Hey there, it's Perch @prch here from Hong Kong. How're you doing @jrvacation?
You and I had a very short chat while you were commenting on the @yo-yo post about the possibility of a cross-community cultural challenge the other day to grow the Singaporean community. We in HK have been facing the same confrontation and so I proposed to @aaronli, @htliao and @honoru (three active community leaders) that the HK community might as well do something as a collective force to grow and retain the HK community and create synergy with other communities.
The HK community as a whole has given birth to a new initiative @orientalhub (this new account has been up and running since this early morning) hoping that from now on @orientalhub can serve as a coordination and collaboration hub for cross-community and cross-cultural events.
I appreciate it if you could have a look at the first post of @orientalhub, through which you can have a better understanding of what that hub is all about, how it works and how we, different communities, can collaborate.
I will be posting a proposal on an experimental cross-community and cross-cultural challenge between your community, Japanese community, and HK community as an experimental debut. If this idea will work, it is very likely that we will make it a long-term regular event.
I'd like to know how we can discuss in more detail?
Hi prch! Yeah we are doing great. Just back from Japan trip before starting work next week :(
Had read @orientalhub first post. Got a little confused, as I always thought there is already a bot hkupvotebot or something like that.
Anyway, yes, I always believe building a local community and collaborate with overseas community is the way to grow for every steemians. We are glad that HK community is coming up with a cross community initiative and would jump at the opportunity to be part of it.
Our usual communication channel is Discord and whatsapp only. Do let me know which one works for you. Our Discord handle is @jrvacation#0719
Hi guys... I feel so sorry I couldn't join you because I live in Nara, next to Osaka now. But I let @sho-t know about both of you before your meetup, because I thought that there's some possibility having cross-communication arranged by @prch, HK. haha... and it seems dreams come true ;) So... I'm looking forward to go next step all together...
The japanese community are really hospitable. They saw our post that we are visiting Tokyo and promptly organised a meet up for us, at a location near our hotel.
Great to see posts about meet-ups on Steemit. It's becoming a regular thing and it should be. There's only great times around the corner when Steemians link up :) To more meet-ups!
Yes they are as you get to meet people who you can instantly connect with. It's like you've known them before! If you're ever in Bangkok, let us know 😊
Yes it is. Really interesting to meet steemians around. Next, I want to meet up with Malaysians. That will be much more easier, just across the causeway :)

Perhaps keep thinking about Japan while working for $ is one sheer momentum for your next JP trip.
hkupvotebot, well, I'm not in the right position to get you sorted about this confusion. But this bot might have gone dormant or something.
I've drafted a proposal and be throwing that to you over discord. See you there.
EDIT: Im a total Discord idiot, I cannot add you. Do you mind if you add me over Discord? I'm @prch#9124 on Discord. Sorry about my clumsiness.
I think you just need to get rid of "@" from that...
