RE: DISCUSSION: How will social media and the internet change as Steemit enters the game?

"Imagine... a world where boys and girls all over the world no longer worry about earning a living because they can just upload their selfies all day long in exchange for crypto currency. I sincerely hope that shit doesn't make it's way to Steemit"

Haha. Thanks for the comment. I haven't seen selfies yet, but I suppose all those introduceyouself and "look at me i'm travelling" posts is the same idea.

Also, to add something to this post's discussion I must say, it sucks when there's so much noise when you're legitimately trying to have a discussion. It's also why I think a Q&A platform designed like Quora would be better for this as I discussed in my post.

In fact, I'm going to change this post's title into a question.

What do you think?

This platform is already starting to turn into some kind of moneymaker. The reason this kind of paltform will never be taken seriously by big players is the reward system. Just like you see a good post from you equal less then a dollar lol and a retarded post from a drunk girl saying im about to go club gets thousands.

I agree that the reward system is unfair and messed up. But on a positive note, this could be an indicator that Steemit is already attracting a mainstream audience which is what they want if they're going to revolutionize social media.

I'm humbled that at least you feel my post deserves more than a "retarded post from a drunk girl saying im about to go club gets thousands." ! It is a bit disheartening though since I did put effort into it. Doesn't it feel like we've become subjects in this famous experiment?
