5 Tips To Protect Your Privacy Online

​According to Wikipedia, Privacy is the ability of an individual or group to seclude themselves, or information about themselves, and thereby express themselves selectively. The boundaries and content of what is considered private differ among cultures and individuals, but share common themes. In other words, privacy can be the state of being alone or the state of being away from other people or the state of being away from public attention.

Relating privacy with the internet also Internet Privacy, it’s simply the ability of someone to protect his / her information on the internet without getting vital information on the internet.

1. You have to make sure no one is spying on you: When you have someone spying on you, your internet privacy can’t be gurantted because when someone spies on you, they are likely to know or even guess your passwords, your friends, what you do on the internet.
2. Don’t use some of your browser: Oh! You thought those features are implemented to improve the user experience while browsing, that the good side of those features but they’ll have bad sides either. Feature like Autofill, Autosave Password, etc are not to be used if you care about your privacy. Do you know that when your passwords and data are stored on your browsers including your credit card details, anyone can access the stored information ? A typical example of app that does this is Google Chrome.
3. Change your password: Depending on how serious you’re about your internet privacy, you should change your password from the current one to a new one (strong one). How do I create strong passwords? There are tons of password generator online but believe me, when they generate password for you, it’ll be so strong that you might not even be able to remember but then make sure you write it down.

But, if you don’t want to use passwords generators, you can use this simple trick I call F-Only (First Only). How does this works? You create a sentence and the first letters of every word will be your password.
For example: I want to keep my password safe without using any trick or offering anyone $$. The password then will be (Iwtkmpswuatooa$.).
Strong to some extent but I’ll recommend you mix the sentence with capital letters (use names of people so as to remember easily).

1. Avoid Using Third Party Security Apps: Use your device’s default security feature and stay sway from third party Security apps like application lockers, phone lockers, battery boosters, etc. The truth is most of those apps tracks you, they gather information from you and send secretly to their makers, also if you notice carefully, those apps take over, download, install on your device without your consent. But as the case may be, if you trust any third party security app, then use it but make sure you check what the app request permission for. E.g Imagine Xender asking for permission to read SMS/MMS, for what?
2. Mask your details: You can mask your details online easily with services like Blur / Abine. With the service, you can be able to mask your email account (your email account can be twisted into another form), masking of credit / debit cards, password manager, etc.
