Someone you know needs a Steem account. GET THEM ONE FOR FREE FROM ME! FREE STEEM ACCOUNTS!!!
A big bottleneck to entering the Steem world is account creation. Either people can't get an account due to simply being denied or they're unable to be verified as a legit human. Or things get lost somewhere in the series of internet tubes that connect us all.
Since HardFork 20, I've been accumulating account creation credits. Some people intend to sell these (which I think is lame), but I intend to give them away which I have been doing lately. All of my account creation credits are FREE. Why would someone want to sell these?! You only shoot yourself and everyone else in the foot by being greedy in this regard. The more people we get, the stronger and more relevant what we're all doing here becomes.
So what do you need to do to get a free account?
Step #1: Decide on the account name.
Step #2: Send me 0.001 Steem or SBD with your desired account name in the memo. You can encrypt this so no one can see what it is by beginning the memo with #.
Step #3: Once I receive the memo and create the account, I will send the 0.001 Steem or SBD back to you with the account details (username and password) in an encrypted memo so that only you will be able to read it.
Step #4: CHANGE THE PASSWORD!!! The password I send you should be treated as temporary and should be changed immediately.
Step #5: Onboard your user!!! Teach them the ropes, help them make an introduceyourself post, show them some cool people to follow, explain how things work, show them resources, give them some upvotes, etc. Get creative!
Please do not abuse this service for your own means. It's fine to get an account from me if you want to start something up, but please do not request an account for malicious intent or anything unsavory. Think of ways you can help this community thrive. This is all primarily meant to onboard NEW users, so please keep that in mind.
This service is absolutely free and I am doing this all manually. Although it is free, I'm not turning down tips :-). I take any crypto on Earth, so yeah, keep that in mind haha. But also, do not feel obligated to tip, I'm not expecting it.
While I'm at it, I'd like to mention @pharesim's project Steem Invite. I'd also like to give a shoutout to @mcfarhat for writing the script that I'm using to claim and create accounts.

I'm looking at creating some accounts for others. Is there a good guide on how to do this? Someone showed me an obscure Steemconnect link to claim one, but I'm not sure what to do next. It uses up most of my RCs when I do this, but I have enough to get by.
Check out www.steeminvite.com You can even send people links to redeem it, but you have to approve it once they try to create it.
It's not ideal that the site wants your posting key. We need to be careful where we expose our keys. I'll keep looking for other options and I'll keep claiming accounts to give away
@pharesim, the dude who made it is extremely legit, but I feel ya 100%.
I'd trust him, but we need all users to be cautious. We have Steemconnect and now Steem Keychain that should be safer.
You can always run @mcfarhat's script locally to claim and create. If you need help with it, hit me up on Discord and I'll walk you through the process. It's very simple.

I see in my area there are not many new users who are interested in registering Steemit, even many old users leave their accounts, all because the price of steem or SBD is very cheap.

There is a memo attached with your login credentials. It is encrypted so you will have to log into www.steemit.com with your master password, then view your wallet. This works the best when you are on a PC.
It is definitely there, you are just doing something incorrect like logging in with your posting key or something. Or trying to view it on mobile.

The account was created and the steem I sent back has the credentials in the memo in an encrypted form. Log into steemit.com and view your wallet to see it decrypted.
OK thanks. I am sorry I still don't think I know where to check it yet. I have gone to my wallet several times but can't seem to find it there.
You must log into steemit.com and then go to https://steemit.com/@hamg96/transfers
Use your main password or active key to login.
Scroll down and you will see a transfer from me and there will be the username and password. I see it just fine.
Believe me. I have actually seen the transfer you made, since yesterday but I don't know how to decrypt it since it is encrypted.
And I have used every Dapp I know to check the message but I can't.

Anyway, do you think it is because I am using a phone, maybe a laptop is required to decrypt it.
Check it on your laptop, or turn your phone sideways. The info you need is definitely there. I just looked at it.

I've just gone through the same problem. I worked out that I must click on the 3 bars on the right of the page and click on "Logout"
I then re-logged in using my Memo encryption PW.
I instantly saw the memo message, with the password matt-a created for me.
I logged in again with my normal 'Posting key' and then used the pw on my friends computer (No point in trying to do it on yuor browser, use only the browser/pc or phone of the person who will be using it.
