8 Tips to Earn High Amount of Curation Rewards at Steemit (English/Turkish)

Since the day I became a member, I have been trying to understand Steemit's mechanism of generating and distributing income, both by experiencing and studying. What I learned in this process has reached a certain maturity level, and I would like to share this information with you. I will start with the basic information and then go into detail, and finally share my suggestions in the light of this information.

Basic Information

In Steemit, revenue occurs on published posts. Seven days after the content is published, 75% of the revenue generated on the post is given to the person who created the content and 25% to those who upvote it. Although at first glance, a relatively large portion of income seems to be derived from the posts, in practice, the revenue obtained from the upvotes is determinant in the system. The income from the upvotes is called "curation reward." When a Steemit member upvotes his/her post, he/she takes the whole revenue for that specific upvote.

Steem Power

The most important factor determining the share of the curation reward generated on a post is how much Steem Power you have. Each user involved in the Steem system is initially given 15 Steem Power. Since half of the revenues of the published content are paid as Steem and Steem Power, your Steem Power is gradually increasing over time depending on the level of appreciation of your posts. You can also quickly increase your Steem Power by investing in Steem through cryptocurrency exchanges and powering up using your Steem wallet. In addition to having Steem Power, you can rent it for a specified period. This process is called Steem Delegation. You can rent Steem Power over https://smartsteem.com or https://www.minnowbooster.net/

Voting Power

You have an average of 10 vote rights per day in the Steemit system. As a result of each vote you use, your voting power is reduced by 2%. Your voting power fills up by 20% on a daily basis. If your voting power is between near %100, you can get maximum efficiency from your Steem Power, as the lower your voting power, the less revenue each upvote generates. If your voting power remains 100% for a long time, you're wasting your Steem power.

You can control your upvote value and voting power with simply pointing the blue "i" icon with your mouse.

Voting Weight

Users with Steem Power over a certain threshold can split their upvotes. Thus, they can vote for hundreds of people per day instead of 10 by using voting weights lower than 100%.

Upvote Timing

Although up to 25% of the revenue generated from posts is shared among those who upvote it along with their vote values, other factors affect distribution.

If the upvote transaction is made after 30 minutes after the content is posted, a %25 ratio is valid for the distribution of the prize. If the upvote process is performed, for example, as soon as the message is published, the total corresponding revenue is earned by the creator of the post. If the upvote transaction is realized 15 minutes after the content is posted, the account that upvoted the content receives half of its 25% curation revenue and takes one third after 10 minutes.

As the examples show, the ratio of revenue from the curation increases linearly, reaching 25% at the end of 30 minutes.

Well, then you might think we should do it after 30 minutes. There is a competition between curators to upvote the high-quality content as soon as possible because early upvoter of high-quality content can benefit from the distribution of curation reward. The first person who likes quality content gets the highest share in the distribution. As your upvote falls back into the rankings, the percentage of income is decreasing exponentially.

You may have found all these calculations very complicated. If so, you're right.

Recommendations

1. Try to increase your Steem Power by generating high-quality content. You can also convert the Steem Dollars you earn from your posts to Steem using Currency Market in the menu of steemit.com and then turn your Steem to Steem Power by using your Steemit wallet.

6. Upvoting their content is an excellent opportunity to connect with people aside from the monetary benefits. Do not hesitate to upvote posts that are broadcasted on the tags you are interested in. This allows you to increase the number of followers.

8. In the curation process, we try to estimate the content that is likely to win a higher prize in the future.
