CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS: THE 9TH PHILIPPINE INTERNATIONAL LITERARY FESTIVAL

The National Book Development Board (NBDB) is looking for volunteers for the upcoming Philippine International Literary Festival (PILF) happening on April 19-20, 2018! The Festival is an annual landmark project of the NBDB and among the highlights of the Buwan ng Panitikan (National Literature Month) celebration. This year’s Festival is bigger than ever as it will be held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, the country’s center for artistic excellence. Besides featuring talks, panel discussions, and workshops on content creation, publishing, reading, and other topics in the book industry, the Festival includes film screenings, a two-day book fair, and free play tests of tabletop games based on Philippine mythology and literature.

Being a volunteer for the Festival is an opportunity to interact with authors, illustrators, publishers, readers, and other relevant book industry players. Also, with the events mentioned above, you’ll have the opportunity to meet individuals and groups passionate about the industries of film, television, and game.

Volunteer opportunities include the following:
 Note-taking and recording during sessions with local and international speakers;
 Assisting ushers during registration and venue navigation;
 Interacting and encouraging participants to attend sessions and visit the book fair and game demonstrations/play tests;
 Event coverage (photos).

Accepted volunteers will gain priority admission to some talks and film screenings, free meals, and certificates of participation.
