I'm glad that Steem has some people like you here - systematic, intelligent, reflective people who really care about the platform.
For me, you really hit the nail on the head with your last point to the Developers - the reward difference between social and selfish behavior is just too big. That is fixable, and I can't for the life of me figure out why it is addressed. Maybe it is just simply because they just like the selfish system that is in place?

I also don't understand why the situation is never talked about by the devs. They are all about the smt's and the communities but the obviously broken curation on the platform never gets mentioned. I'm actually looking forward to the Steem competitor @dan is planning to make on EOS.
