The Art of Saying Yassss Or Nahhh - AND WHY "YES" TO STEEMIT !!!
Hello Steemit Friends,
As children we were taught that "Yes" is a positive word and "No" is a negative word. When parents tempt to teach us, they expect a yes response to build and shape us as a well-rounded adult. When we grow up though, these two word not necessary represents its definition that direct. Circumstances and situations are more complex and answers we give can shift our lives to varieties directions. It is important that we understand what we are choosing and that we don't live forever but we live with the choices we make.
Yes and no may be two simple English words but they generate a vast array of mind-boggling complexities when they are incorrectly used. Imagine you are invited somewhere you do not feel like attending. In the inside, you are screaming no but you are trying not to offend others, so you say yes!.... Living life like this can be very draining
When it comes to saying Yes or No, Here are a few things that you should consider !
Know you cannot please everyone
It is impossible to please everyone Know where to draw the line because saying yes all the time can be draining. In addition to this, constantly saying yes may make people take advantage of you.
Know what you are saying yes to
Saying no automatically means saying yes or other opportunities. Therefore, it is important to know what you are consenting to.
Avoid details
When saying no, it is always best to keep your answer short and simple. Too many explanations may allow someone else to easily convince you otherwise.
Leave Some Room
Say maybe or possibly if you need time to think in circumstances that allows you to . Give yourself that space of being direct. Just remember to be clear and not misinterpreted.
Offer an alternative
Although you may not be of help, you could always offer suggestions. Finding other ways that the task could be done is the best way to go about it.
The good news is that the goods in life do not depend on you saying yes to everything. Just remember to say yes to your dreams, passions and what you want to achieve. Spend time around people who stimulate and challenge you.

My dad was a stock market investor and one thing i remembered he told me clearly that the art of investment is that you want to find "Something Sexy", which means a good platform, with potential growth and an exciting future. When you find that, make sure you be a part of it. If it's good as you're confident that it is, people will realize that it's a "Hottie" and everyone will want a piece of it.

Totally agree with you and indeed I've taken into account some of the things u said here. And maybe try some of ur methods. :) One thing I've learnt is that you're right, we can't please everyine
For myself, I really always stayed in the "maybe" zone which ended up as a no. As i realized later on that if it was important, i should have just been straight up with the person. Expectations leads to disappointment !. Lesson learned
Someone once told me, if your heart has a second thought, go for the second thought. It's probably more important or what you really want. You can try this method. :D haha
Pleasing everyone is quite tricky, if not impossible to do at times. I find that you get some piece of mind in not concerning yourself with other peoples opinions of you or your actions. Certainly you can hear what other people think, and take action if its something which adds value to you life. But don't take others opinions to heart, just smile and say thanks!

lol. It is quite strange how we are taught such a negative connotation of the word "no", but then saying no is a really good thing sometimes.
Like when someone asks you if you wanna smoke some crack. GREAT time to say "nah".

As a child it makes sense doesn't it that it sounds not so good. Amazing how things can be so different when we grow up :)

Yes..Saying 'NO' to the things you are uncomfortable with or not among your priorities, in a polite way is a very difficult task. But it's very important that we develop that skill if we want to live our life to our own satisfaction.
I grew up in an Asian culture which is very common to just say "YES". In some situations, with some individuals, promises are broken all the time. This makes no sense. But some rather sound polite than be polite. Thank you for your comment :)

I agree. But dont parents try their best to build their child up with positives ? And of course, they choose what they want to become with out force.
If only it was that easy to say "NO" when we mean it.

Wow!! Very quickly to judge ! Well Thank you for your comments anyways. Means a lot that you have taken your time to visit my post and comment on it. Yes i have been occupied on replying messages these pass few days. sometimes i do not answer right the way. I didn't know there was a rule to answer with in hours. When i do have time, i make sure i answer them. I just graduated from university and left my job. I am now in searching for new opportunities and in an instability mode. Perhaps my creativity level have dropped recently. Sorry if you think my posts are not what you expected. I am here to learn and grow just like everyone else. Thank you for your reply. I understand that people have a private life and this must be a priority over Steemit for sure.
However, I think it is right that before a new post is created, the previous works' relevant and constructive comments should be replied to. This is key for many users of the platform to build a following and grow, and so popular users like yourself should be leading by example, or else the platform will suffer.

I must say i really avoid this part of impressing people and leaving my self in a very disturbing state,impressing people and saying no to your own opinion or mind can be so depressing.
Yes, it is always hard to say Nah.. But we should be doing it more cause the society now a days always teaches we must always say Yah try to do it before say no... We won' regret the things we had try unless we always say NAH.
