We Want You, To Stay - (To New Users and Fellow Minnows)
Everyday we see new people here on steemit and I cannot begin to talk about how happy we are to have these new ones here with us.
But we've also noticed that some of these new ones get discouraged and stop coming online entirely mostly because they don't get enough encouragement, they don't get good payouts or any payout at all, so they give up.
Sometimes, some of them write really good stuff while some just post a pic with few lines and go off.

I'm still very young myself in this platform (an upcoming baby) but I just want to share some encouragement and what has been working for me.
There's so much happening in the steemit community, the more you stay, the more you get the gist of how the platform works.
The best part is that most of these projects are out to help minnows and Redfish(newbies).
for example:
- minnow support project
- Talent challenge organized by @kid4life
- The sankofa creative competition organized weekly by @misterakpan
-The steemit-virus contest - The steem-lagos weekly giveaway
- Steemit Acceleration Hub @stach contest
And so much more!
Please, these contests i linked above are still on, please take your time and open the links and engage in as many contests as you can, read other people's entries and commend them for their effort (especially when you see one that beat yours, lol)
Even if you don't get the prize as the winner, you'd get more publicity because you're supporting these people who are out to help us, In other words, Help them to help us (if that makes sense).
Some contests even have something for everyone who participates, like the sankofa competition so at the end of the day it's a win-win.
Read and read posts, don't just upvote and move on, many of them are educative.
Make reasonable comments on people's posts not just "Hi, great post" and off you go.
Follow people that are really working to better the community (you get something when you upvote others) the upvote for upvote thing doesn't really make sense because in steemit, you gain when you give.
Be creative and try to add quality to your posts. Let's continue to mine steem with our minds.
As for me and my household, we're staying on steemit

I think that they should be more encourage to keep doing what they are doing i.e creating good content and trying to give a voice to quality content. Patience is key here on steemit. It will eventually pay someday.

I totally agree. Steemit is not for someone who cannot sow a seed and wait a full year to eat its fruit.
@sussan. Simple message but very profound. Just to support what @sussan has said. We want you all to stay and let us go up together. The journey to the top starts with a step and to win the price means you have to pay the prize. Like I will always say"keep doing what you are doing because very soon your effort would be rewarded in a big way".

I would add that when we tell people about steemit,lets give them the right information,i think the reason people quit is because they joined for the wrong reason. Steemit is great community.
I would also add that people shoud improve be reading and adding to others post,especially those with little or no comment.
I read a lot here and comment but peope hardly do same for me.

Still new, still growing, and still enjoying steemit. More nice people here than anywhere else I have seen on line.

To be honest, Im new here as well. I started it cause i wanted to share my travel stories ( ive been to aprox 90 countries so far) But i have no idea how to build up community. ( Very new to that ) I hope i will stay tho. Thank you for your share
