Steemit Minnows - Creating A Synergy-Effect For Fun and Profit
This is an organic post with the purpose of helping new users find tools, understand the data and learn basic tactics to ensure a great Steemit experience.
Now... let's dive in!
FOR FUN AND PROFIT
How do you know if you're a Minnow, Dolphin, Orca or a Whale?
Your status is determined by how much STEEM POWER (SP) you hold.
In an announced Minnow Support Project Steemfest 2 contest in June 2017, @scooter77 defined Minnow as anyone that has 5000 SP or less and 500 followers or less.
MINNOWS
- Most likely recently joined
- Curation = No money
- SP is below 1 million
- Voting power and payouts = Minimal
- Valuable content creation = earn STEEM
GET NOTICED BY DOLPHINS AND WHALES
- TAG posts with trending categories
- CREATE valuable content
- SHARE posts on Facebook / Twitter / Instagram. Bring along a recent post, integrate all your social channels to drive organic traffic.
ANALYTICS AND TOOLS FOR STEEM
In-depth metrics and analytics are a must for anyone seeking to grow. The below tools are great to monitor your blog posts and find out who is upvoting, sharing them, and keep track of overall engagement:
- Mentionator by @minnowsupport. Get notified whenever someone mentions you.
- Cheetah. @cheetah is an informative robot that might comment on your post. If she does, she will claim that she found similar content somewhere else on the web. This is because you likely copy & pasted some form of content -- whether it be your own or not.
- Steemd by Steem witness @roadscape, it's a blockchain explorer for the steem blockchain. Users can find details of votes, transactions, as well as details of every steem block.
- Steem Spectacles by @spectacles. A great Steemit Follower Tracking app.
COMMUNITY OVER COMPETITION
Finding and building communities is a great alternative. In order to succeed, minnows must connect with others on the Steemit Platform:
- Find users who share common interests
- Support steemians with quality comments
- Connect with active users
DON'TS
Don't beg for follows
Don't chase users for upvotes
Don't just publish your posts and leave. That won't get you anywhere. Begin networking with steemians and do that as often as possible
I wrote this post in the aim to help new Steemit users understand some basics of Steemit Platform. What would you have said differently? Comment with services and helpful tools you'd recommend!

YW and Thanks @bhop42moro for taking time reading it. Let's keep the good vibes rolling!
There will never be enough posts to try and help minnows. This one is very good!:)
Thanks for featuring my post! I had fun writing that and also was so succesfull compared to my posts before that. Maybe it would be a good idea to add a link to the posts but with an advice of not upvoting because they are so old :)
Let's keep steeming!
Thanks @fabiyamada :) I truly appreciate your comment and inputs... & absolutely, I believe repurposing content is quite helpful for so many reasons, not just to notice your evolution but to discover your hypothesis was actually quite valid. :)
Yeah! It worked for me xD
