He was great! Of course he went over the normal half-guard passing & leg locks. Much of what he did is on his half-guard DVD, but he added in some details that you do not get on the DVD, and included some things I hadn't seen before. Well worth the money!
It was great! His details were on par. He went over a ton of different things. He had a great Q&A and pic session. He's definitely as humble, nice and cool as he appears online. He really had that straight shooter mentality and felt very genuine. There's also a video going viral from where the night before at the sub-only (mostly EBI rules) and Tennessee's first Combat Jiu Jitsu matches (including one gi CJJ match) Battle Mountain, Tom did a special match with a young man, and it was the sweetest, and one of the greatest things I've ever witnessed. Tom had to cancel his match due to injury, so he wrestled this kid, and even let him keep the belt that he and his opponent would have won.
Legit fun times! One of the better seminars I've been to, and definitely Battle Mountain Sub-Only/CJJ tourney was the greatest jiu jitsu tourney I've ever witnessed. I'll be going back in April to see their 64-man tourney Purple belt and up. This past tourney was all black belts with a few badass brown belts included. Battle Mountain has got it going on. Anyone planning to travel through the Nashville/Chattanooga area should definitely try to plan to attend one of their events. Awesome promotion, Seth Layne is a great guy, and the whole staff was amazing, down to the food vendors. I've personally never left a weekend as happy with my money spent as this.
Man i really love sub only and CJJ rules. I had been rolling CJJ style since early bluebelt without knowing what CJJ is. Just from watching old school jiu jitsu videos of Gracies.
Super cool, steemit has an immense grappling community and that makes me happy.
Yeah, it was a fun weekend. Glad to see the grappling/mma community in Steemit growing and gaining traction.
Such a great guy! What material did he go over?

Wow! How would you describe the whole experience to learn from such a legend? :)
