What do you think about the presence of the Audius platform in the music industry?
As we know that entertainment is a part of our life. We entertain ourselves by doing different activities, like playing games (indoor and outdoor), watching movies, and doing stuff that we like to do.
Music is also included in the list of activities that entertained us. Music plays an important role when we are lying in different mental conditions. We are bored then we listen to music that belongs to the sad category. When are happy then we listen to music that represents our emotions.
Now a day’s music industry is enhanced by using blockchain technology. Music is adopted by blockchain technology. Huge evolution come in the music industry. All the things are changed in the music industry by adopting blockchain technology.
Who created Audius and the purpose of Audius?
Audius is a decentralized music platform that is developed by two blockchain developers Rniel Ramberg and Forrest Browning. They have great experience in blockchain technology. They want to change the traditional music system and fix all the deficiencies in the traditional music system. The biggest risk in the traditional music system is copyright. In the traditional system, anyone claims that this particular music is his property.
But actually, this is not belonging to this person who claims. The second is not direct communication between the musician and listeners. The third party is always staying between the musician and listeners. All income generated from music does not belong to musicians. A percentage of the total amount is received by musicians. Audius solves these issues due to his decentralized nature.
Purpose of Audius.
A musician can post their music on this platform without the fear of being copied and authorship of music. First, musicians select the label of a particular company and attach to his music for the purpose of authorship. In this way, musicians get copyrights of their music. After that musicians generate income by selecting the label company that promotes the music of musicians.
In this way, the music is directly going to listeners. There is no third party between the musician and listener. The new music is distributed among the listeners in a very fast way. The income of musicians is depending on the number of people who listen to your music.
If the number of listeners is more in number then the income is high, if your listeners are less in number, then it will generate less income. Audius is a decentralized platform. That is why the payment is done in the form of cryptocurrency. Audius has its native token Audio that is based on the Ethereum blockchain.
In the Audius platform, we have complete freedom to post our music with the label of a particular company or without the label of company. Here, musician can create their own copyright without attaching the label of a particular company.
This is because Audius is a decentralized platform in which everything is stored in a ledger. No one can modify and manipulate the data that is stored in the ledger. In this way, no one claims the other’s work is his property. Because everything is stored on the ledger. If someone does that then it is completely illegal and some serious action is taken against him.
With the governance system used by Audius, do you think that system has made Audius a fair and fully decentralized platform? If not, please provide your personal suggestions for the system that Audius uses to make it fairer and more decentralized.
If we want to know that the system is governance then we need to test a few things of the project. First, we need to test the freedom and right of decision on the platform. Secondly, the project should be decentralized. The project should transparent. It means that it is not controlled by anyone else. Third nor third party between the users.
According to the above-mentioned criteria, the Audius is fully governance system. It full fill all the requirements of governance system. In this platform, the user has the right to vote. The user can make decisions in the development process. The user who holds the audio token can participate in decision making.
If we talk about the transparency of Audius, then it is a transparent system. Everything is done in this place can be seen by anyone. In this platform, the content is published by a person. This content is actually his property. Because this is saved in a public ledger with the name of his creator. No one claims this one to his property. Because everyone is transparent. And this makes Audius the governance system.
The Audius is a fully decentralized platform because it is created on the Ethereum blockchain. All the transaction and data is stored on the ledger. And there is no third party between the musician and music listeners. The users are directly interacting with each other. This is why Audius is a governance and decentralized system.

There are two types of staking on the Audius platform. We will discuss both staking one by one. The first staking is Operator staking and the second one is staking delegation.
Operator Staking
As we discussed in the above question that, Audius is a decentralized platform in nature. The content that is published by the user is stored and validated with the help of operator nodes. The health of the node operator is depending upon the operator staking. The operator staking is done with the help of staking the Audio token. This is known as Operator staking. By staking the token I operator increases the security.
Delegation Staking
It is the second type of staking. Due to the few inconveniences faced by the operator staking the delegation staking is introduced. The fee of delegation is less than the operator staking. In this type of staking, we delegate audio token for node operators. After a delegation of tokens, we get a reward on the basis of delegation. The reward depends on the amount of delegation.
Now we understand practically that how actually the staking delegation is done. For staking delegation on the Audius platform, you need to do the following steps.
- Go to the Audius Website and click on the Connect Wallet button.
- Then select the Metamask.
Then Go to the Metamask extension and click on the Next Button.
Then again click on the Connect button.
Our wallet is connected successfully.
Staking Delegation process
- Go to the services tab and select one of the service here.
- Next click on the Delegate button.
- Next the amount that you want to delegate. The minimum delegate is 5000. Then click on the Delegate button.
- Then click on the Confirm with Metamask button for confirmation.
- Go to Metamask and then confirm the transaction as shown in the figure.

Making the account on the Audius platform is so easy. We can make it by using a website and mobile application. In this, I use a mobile application for creating the Audius account. So, you need to do the following procedure for creating the account on Audius.
- Go to google play store and install Audius Music.
- After installing, open the app and then enter the email and then click on the Sign UP Button.
- Next, enter the password twice and then click on the Continue button.

Profile Page
In the mobile application, if we click on the most right bottom profile icon then it opens our profile information. There are a few things that we do and know about our account.
Edit Profile: We can edit our profile by clicking on the edit profile button.
Upload: Here we can upload trace by clicking on the upload track button.
Check Status: We can check the status of our account by checking the follower, playlist, and following people list.
Repost: We can also check the posts that are reposted.
Favorites
This is the second tab on the Audius application from the right side. Here we can check our tracks, album, and playlists. If we want to check Trending content then click on the Go to Trending button.
Explore
In this tab, we can find the content according to our choice. Here you can see that, For You tab, in this tab, the mixed content is shown that is according to our likes and the content that we are following.
In the next tab, we can find out the content according to our model. In the tab, we can check the playlist of specific music. In the last, tab, we can check the list of artists.
Trending
In this tab, we can see the content that is most visited and listened to by the public. We can filter the trending content over a week, month, and year.
Your Feed
It is the last tab, on the Audius app. In this tab, the general posts are shown. We can filter these posts by clicking the All posts button and changing all posts to favorite and like the track.
There is two button place on top of screen one is the search button and the second is the notification button. We can search for anyone on this application and follow them. In notification feature, we can check all the alerts and notifications about the Audius application. These are the major feature of the Audius platform.
Explain in detail how the mechanism of uploading music content on Audius.
In the Audius platform, the musician has full control over his work. The musician has copyrights of his music. All the transactions are executed independently. All the transactions are validated through the network of nodes. There are two types of nodes in Audius.
1. Content Nodes
The audio content that is uploaded by a musician is stored and delivered by a set of computers. These nodes are known as content nodes. These nodes start working after content is uploaded by musicians. These nodes validate and store data and share this data with other nodes before storing this data on the blockchain ledger.
2. Discovery Nodes
Discovery Nodes start working after the data validation and storing in the ledger. When data is validated and by content nodes the process of discovery node is started. Discovery nodes attach hash and label with data of users like followers, profiles and playlist, etc. Discovery node approved and record content that belongs to his real author. The final step of uploading data on Audius is done by discovery nodes. If we notice the uploading process of the traditional system and Audius, then externally they are quite the same.

In the above illustration, you can see that first the content is uploaded by the musician. This uploaded content goes to the content nodes. Content nodes first validate this content and then store this content. A content node attached a reference with the content. This reference helps to determine the tracks.
Next, the content node produces its duplicates and distributes them to the other nodes. The duplication of content is created on the basis of reference that is attached in the first step. Next, the transaction is executed that indicates the track is present on Audius. After that metadata is attached to this file.
When the working of content nodes is completed then the working of the discovery node is started. Discover node own that content that is fully owned by the original creator. And this process is done in the previous node. In the discovery node, the process of indexing and hashing is started. Discovery node index and hash the data of users. In this way, user content is successfully uploaded on the Audius.

If you want to upload your own artwork or music then need to do the following steps. You can upload your content on mobile or using a website. I am using the website form to upload the artwork.
- Go to the Audius Website and log in to your account.
- Click on the Upload Tack button at the left of the window. And then click on browse to upload.
- Then select the file from your computer.
- In the next, window you select the type of music and Mood for music and a description of the music. Tags are also put for music. After putting all detail, click on the Continue button for uploading.
- In this way our track is uploaded successfully.
Audius is a decentralized platform where we can upload and listen to music according to our choice. It is a fully decentralized platform. In this platform, there is no centralized authority that controls this. Musicians and music lovers can directly interact with each other.
The problem is being copyrighted is solved because this platform provides complete security about the ownership of music by creating the label. The reward is distributed in the form of native token audio. By using audiu, musicians can earn passive income.
all the system is transparent. The data is stored on the ledger. No one can manipulate this data. in this way, this platform is good for those who have musical talent. We can earn by staking the tokens.
