Time to time it would happen to you that you say " Oh! One minute, I must be in dream!" when you see something nonsense in your dream.. Even you maybe make you awake from your dream. If you would have a power to understand that you are dreaming and you can use it however you want, what would you like to do?

What is Lucid Dreaming?

Lucid Dream is with the basic definiton is to understand that you are in dream and control your dream. It occurs in the sleeping stage of REM. REM sleep is most easily recognised by the rapid and apparently random side to side movements of the closed eyes. With other words it is the line between sleeping and being awake. It is the easiest time to contol your dream. We are seeing dreams with %94 by our subconscious. Because we can't control our subconscious in dreams, we can't control our dreams. In Lucid Dreaming we are activating our conscious in dream. This means we are making our conscious and subconscious to cooperate in dream. On the people who is under the hypnosis, or under the anaesthesia, their conscious are sleeping and their subconscious are talking and answering the questions. So it happens only in Lucid dream that conscious and subconscious meet..

The History of Lucid Dreaming

Lucid Dreaming is not a modern exploration. The people called it in 5. century as "Clear Dream" but it has been started to be researched in the last 20-30 years. In 415 A.D in a brief written by St. Augustine was mentioned about Lucid Dream like this " Conscious is sleeping. Subconscious is creating a new world in dream and conscious is waking up in that world." In 8. century Tibetan Buddhists were applying Lucid Dreaming as Yoga. Acording to the " Tibetan book of the dead" the Yogis who lived in that times had the full power to control their dreams.

In 19. century dreams were not seen only the messages from God, it also was seen as the moments created unconsciously by human conscious and were started to researched. One of the most important figure of Lucid Dreaming history is Marquis d'Hervey de Saint-Denys. He is a pioneer who recorded his dreams since 13. aged. In 1867 he published his 20 years experiences. He became the first person who proved that everybody can achieve Lucid Dreaming.

Is Lucid Dreaming safe?

It is definitely safe. You just see a dream. Even if you burn your hand i the dream, you can feel pain in that time but knce you wake up, you will not see any harm in your hand. This is the interesting point. Will you die really when you die in the dream? No, it is impossible.

What are the effects of Lucid Dream to the Real Life?

Looked from the positive side, you can overcome your fears totally with this method. I repeat again it is only Lucid Dream that conscious and subconscious face. It can heal you so that not a physiologist or a medicine can heal you. Let say that you have fear from high altitude. You apply a Lucid Dream. You can imagine or create that you are in a very high rope. By this way you can face eith your fear and overcome it.

But the negative effects of it is to addict Lucid dream and avoid from real life, being sleepy and fatigue.

Techniques of Lucid Dreaming

Techniques 1. It is an easy technique but it can takes time. Eat salty foods before you sleep. Put a cup of water next to you. Repeat to yourself that you will not drink this water until wake up. Let your subconscious to hold your word. Repeat it until you fall into sleep. So if you hold your word and see yourself drinking the water, it means you are in dream and controlling it.

Technique 2. Firstly you can have a shower. It will open your mind. You will go to sleep and will sleep for 5 hours. After that you should wake up. You can use your alarm for that. Than you should be awake for 10 minutes. You can either read something or walk in the house. The point is you should make yourself fully awake. After that you will go to sleep again. You think that you will control your dream. Focus on what you want to see in dream. Until fall sleep repeat that this is a dream and I am controlling my dream. Don't stop it otherwise your conscious will close and your subconscious will open.

Technique 3. Choose a colour. For example you choose green colour. You will never remove this from your mind. Whenever tou see a green colour, you will ask yourself "Am I dreaming?" This technique requires a little patience but the results are certain.

Technique 4. You will take notes of your dreams. You will have a notebook next to you. Whenever you wake up, you will write down your dreams with all details you remember. Before you go to sleep, you will read your notes again. You will keep the dream in your mind. With this way you will be aware while dreaming. Make it a habit to ask yourself during the day " Am I in dream?" This will be recorded to your subconscious after a time and automatically you will be askin in dream also " Am I dreaming".

I am a person who see dreams everyday.. Sometimes I notice in my dream that I am dreaming but I couldn't manage to control it. After I learn this techniques, I decided to make it. It should be an amazing feeling to do whatever you want, wherever you go.. I hope you like my article and concept. I would like to hear your ideas about it..

I appreciate lucid dreaming.

Dreaming and applied inagination are powerful tools for learning healing addressing and clearing stuff

Search for the “basket ball study” that examined the effectiviness of learning through imagination.

Remember sometimes its good just to dream and let it play out. Dream state is a place for emotions to be work through or released. It is when the mind shifts info from short term to long term memory. And deeep sleep is needed to move through the sleep stages. So i recommend being selective with lucid dreaming.

Thanks for toic.

Wow you look very knowledgable at thís topic.. It made me excited and glad.. Thanks for your wisdom-filled comment..

Thank you. I have studied the power of visualization for a while.

Dreams are a usual function that I found most people ignore or overlook.

Thanks for reminding people to take advantage of this amazing resource.

Very welcome.. Yeah the people tend to believe only positive sciences. But we human being have a soul and feed from spiritual events. Dream is one of this. We are lucky to be aware of this..

I totally agree. Most modern cultures avoid spiritual acknowledgement. Capitalism focuses on materialism. And materialism is designed to distracted people from the universal truths that we are al one , happiness is a choice , all things are spirit.

Lucid dreaming can remind people that they are in control and dont have to accept the limiting beliefs of capitalism or materialism.

Those systems are fine as long as they allow people freedom of choice and promote a sense of healthy wellbeing.

If only a new toy sustained the soul image

This is a beautiful way to bring a Dreamliner into the picture.
