My First Week on Steemit: No Scams, Just Lessons from Benue State
Hey Steemit family,
I’m @anthony02 from Benue, Nigeria. This is my #steemit-promo-intro post. I joined because I was tired of WhatsApp and Telegram “jobs” that ask for my ID and money. I wanted something I can do with just my phone and my words.
Here are 3 things I learned in my first week:
1. Be Real, Not Perfect
I thought I needed big English or professional photos to start. I was wrong. My post about “how I move around Benue State when there’s traffic” got more comments than anything I tried to copy. People like real stories.
2. Engagement is Currency
If I only post and disappear, nothing happens. But when I comment on 10 other Nigerian or newbie posts every day, people come back to my page. Steemit rewards community, not just content.
3. Protect Your Account Like Cash
Two people have already messaged me saying “send your Steemit password so I can boost you.” That’s a lie. Your Posting Key and Master Password are private. If you give them away, you lose your account forever. Steemit support will never ask for it.
What I’ll Be Posting Here
I’ll be sharing simple stuff: life in PH, cheap food spots, beginner tips for making money online in Nigeria, and my mistakes so you don’t make them too. If you’re also new, we can grow together.
Thanks for reading. Please drop a comment and tell me your country + what you post about. I will follow back and upvote.
