My Steemit Short Story

I was invited to join this platform by my aunt @immarojas and became a member since January 2017. After few number of blogs, with a few number of upvotes and with zero payout, I decided to left the platform because I felt that this world is not for me. I felt lonely. Months had passed and then I woke up one day wanting to try sailing again on Steemit.

Getting To know Communities

After deciding to comeback and try my luck once more, I've realized that the key in order for you to be noticed was to engaged. Thru this, I gained friends on steemit. Those people help me realized the path that I want to take in this world.

My Aunt, @immarojas is an active steemian and an active member of an organization called Steemit Philippines.

Steemit Philippines is a non profit organization which aims to build communities and enrich lives through Steemit.

Steemit Philippines have grown and they now have branches. You can choose branch to join with according to your area (location) or the branch near you.

Meeting New People

I joined in that group and they all welcomed me with their arms wide open and from then I started to support their initiatives. Through this group I met and found a new sister, @dandalion who is always there for me. She teaches me everything she knows about the platform. She happily attends to my queries. She inspires me. I also met his husband @steemitph who asked me to join their @steemph.manila family. It is really an honor to be a part of this team.

@steemph.manila is the charity arm of @steemph (Steemit Philippines).

Inside that family, I met the captain of steemph.manila, @monkeypattycake. Pat helps me understand the things that they are doing to help new steemians and as well as how they do charities. Also through the help of her video in youtube, "What is Steemit, Coins.ph and Steemph I have been able explain to my friends clearly and easily of what Steemit is all about and how can this platform help them in terms of financial needs.

Right now, we are waiting for this coming weekend for the event, Meet-Up Caravavan that will be held on Cavite (My hometown), where I will be able to meet the lovely and amazing couple of @steemph, @dandalion & @steemitph personally. I am also excited to meet @watersnake101, the one who initiated the said event and he is the one arranging everything about it like the venue that can be read in his post, Meet Up Caravan Steemit Cavite Update. We are aiming to open another branch of Steemit Philippines in Cavite. (SteemPH.Cavite)

Personal Achievements

1. I am currently supporting a project that will start most probably this April. The project is called "A Walk of Hope", led by @flabbergast-art and supported by @steemph family . You can read my post entitled, Resteem, Promote and Support; "A Walk of Hope" Project of Alinaga. I donated the earnings I got to this post for this project. It is just a small amount but I believe that no amount is too small if it comes from the heart and you are eager to help.

2. Since I became an active steemian, I've been inviting friends from my Facebook account, workmates, long term friends and the members of my family to sail here on steemit. The two of my workmates have successfully boarded on this platform, @ejeeywander, who posted 3 blogs already and @mabethcruz, who just got an approval last weekend and is warming up to share her introductory post. My Thai friend, @asurao, whom I've known for almost 8 years now thru Facebook confirmed that he just landed on the platform. Also my old workmate who has just been approved @senn.art and is excited to explore this world. While the others are still waiting for their approval.

Family

Other than my @steemph and @steemph.manila family, I have also my real life family (my second family) boarded and sailing here on steemit already, my sister's in law @mariayves0912, @tiffanyanne, @idamagbag, cousin @raynarojas, Aunt @immarojas and partner @bowiemagbag.

On the other hand, my first family are all very supportive to me. I didn't keep it a secret to them that I am active in blogging here in steemit. And I'm glad that they support me all the way. I couldn't imagine my short tempered father to fully cooperates with me as I told him that I want to blog and give review to his newly purchased Karaoke, please refer to my post Unboxing;Platinum Karaoke Major HD-10. Even my mom let me borrow her phone so that I can took pictures as I can't use my phone to capture it better. And also, my licensed Radiology Technologist and also our baker queen younger sister is just waiting for her approval.

How steemit changes me

The first reason why I came here was to earn. But along the way I discovered that Steemit isn't all about earnings. My perspective had changed. If I would enumerate how I see Steemit now, it would be like this.

• Learning ~ there is so much to learn about this platform. You just have to explore and discover it yourself. If you are eager to learn, there is so many people that can help you.

• Sharing ~ Sharing is caring indeed. It feels good sharing the abundance of this platform.

• Helping ~ The genuine happiness in helping others are truly immeasureable and unexplainable.

• Earning ~ When you think less about earning, you will surely enjoy this platform. Stop stressing yourself and rushing to earn so much. Just enjoy what you are doing.
