I'm not a tech savvy guy, but the search statistics seemed flawed. Because there involved two words, short and or bitcoin, which explain when short bitcoin has more search then bitcoin alone. Did you try "quote" the search and see what happen? Like "search bitcoin". Just saying, my two Steem 🙂

Ever since futures you’ed be surprises at how popular shorting bitcoin has become! On the various chats there is a whole new bitcoin culture evolving around selling and buying back lower! People are adapting to make money and when prices are deflating selling is always best, thus all the extra searches on google lately! It may also be due to a lot of traders searching bitcoin short vs long? Who knows, count it a a blessing, lol cheap btc!!!

Yeah you can short BTc with USDT on Binance, so one doesn't even need to own btc to sell it now!
