The North Face of Ilocos
Vigan City is the capital of Ilocos Sur. I thought that there is so much in Vigan that I never tried going to some places. I was asked by my friends in Manila if I tried going to the north and that there are still a lot of places to visit and be amaze. We planned to go and visit Pagudpud.
Welcome to Ilocos Norte Arch
We did not miss taking a selfie with the grand welcome to Ilocos Norte through this welcome arch that is as imposing as the Paoay Church.
This beautiful welcome arch is located at the boundary of Sinait town in Ilocos Sur and Badoc town in Ilocos Norte.
St. Augustine Church, Paoay
This church is known to be one of those oldest treasure we have in the country. By merely standing outside the church, I can feel the solemnity inside. It is a must to visit this church. It is really fascinating.
Cape Bojeador Lighthouse
On our way to Pagudpud, we passed by another municipality - Burgos. Cape Bojeador Lighthouse is a cultural heritage structure in Ilocos Norte. The lighthouse was established during the Spanish Era in the Philippines.
On top of the hill, overlooking the South China Sea. I guess this is a good spot for prenuptial pictures.🤗😘
Kapurpurawan Rock Formation
Kapurpurawan is an ilocano word which means "white". The rock formation is totally beautiful. They said that the currents and waves formed that amazing rock. It is good that they preserved it well.
Bangui Windmills
On the way to the site, everyone got so excited because we could already see the windmills. Everyone prepared their cameras.🤗
I knew that these windmills are big but i didn't expect it to be that very huge, seriously. It's hard to find the perfect angle to take a picture even with the single windmill.
Hannah's Beach Resort, Pagudpud
Even without entering the resort, we could already feel a sense of being at peace with nature.
The view was very relaxing. The resort offers surfing, jet skiing, snorkeling, kayaking, banana boat rides, or even speed boats. They have it all but we chose to have banana boat ride. It is a 5 seater ride for 3 rounds. It cost 1,800 pesos, not bad right?
It requires money and time that most are not willing to give up when travelling. So we made sure that we did not spend a lot of money. We budgeted 2,000pesos for the gas from Vigan to Pagudpud and vice versa. Going to these places in the north is worth it. It is really more fun in the Philippines.
Photos are all mine taken using my Huawei P9 lite phone.
Credits to my friend Jake for helping us see these places and driving from Vigan to Pagudpud and vice versa.
