Malasag Eco-Tourism Village and Mapawa Nature Park
Hey there, it's been two months since my last post, I've got a lot of mix emotion with the on-going rates on Steemit although it didn't affect me that much but it's a good tool to express yourself and see possibilities. So, I'm back to finish the reviews for the top 7 and make more articles. :)
Before we go to the last two let's have a short recap on our Top 7 over-viewing places in Cagayan de Oro City:
First we had a blast at High Ridge and Eden Solace's golden sunset

then we feel in love at HUGO Sky Lounge or Sierra del Oro's play ground and sky diving

and we speed-up things to the cool-chill breeze in Talakag Bonseta's Fun fun rides
and Ultra Winds Mountain Resort

And finally we are ending it an ageless primeval jungle of Malasag Gardens and Mapawa Adventures! Let's go!
(6) Malasag Eco-Tourism Village and Gardens

The Malasag house is slopping on a 7.2 hectares surrounded by nature teak trees and eco-trails, is also a nesting point to view the Macajalar bay.
On a typical day, Native people in their cultural attire will welcome you with dances while spotting next to them are their unique hand made crafts that can be a good souvenir for your friends.
This jungle vibe of animals like python, the Philippine Eagle, pet monkeys and more can be an educational outing for children.
As for our young adults you can try the rope bridge just for a short thrill with your P10.00 you are good to try it! And of course don't forget to take a selfie capturing your best moments with your friends.
When our church family visited here we all enjoyed the place especially the garden. We were told that they accept camping here and also wedding ceremonies, it's also a good place for dating couples. <3
How to go there:
From City proper you need to ride a taxi or ride a jeepney bound for Gusa or Cugman then drop at Malasag signage, right side of the road. From there you will ride a motorcycle for about 5-minutes and when you reach an intersection turn right and you'll see Malasag Eco-Park.
Summing our final destination:
(7) Mapawa
To be honest I have a limited experience here only during our shoots and promotions but I will share to you some reviews of people who not just went here but truly embraced what it means to be on it!

If you are looking for a nature trip with your family and friends, Mapawa nature park is the nearest option. You can go for a walk on their rope bridge, try their zip line, horse back riding or simply trek around the park to see nice views. The place is accessible if you are from the east or west part of the province. The only cons is the steep road during rainy days and the transportation back and fort if you don't have a car.- dadbod088
The place is nice for trekking/communing with nature as well as for team buildings and family reunion. They have rooms/houses for rent with food service available or you can bring your own food and water as they have a kitchen with appliances. There's a pool, a playground, a water hole, and lot's of untouched area where you can hike or ride a horse (they have horses for lease also). -Zola M D
You'll have to hire a vehicle to get there if you don't have one. They do have tables so you can just bring food and drinks with you if you plan to do just a walk-in visit of the place. The area is wide and we haven't actually been to every corner. I wanted to see the fall but they said it's a long walk since the van couldn't enter the small path going there. They do offer a lot of activity to do there but of course you'd have to pay for it. They offer a package also. Come as a group to make it more fun. I picked the place for our prenup shoot last January. It's a good alternative if you want a nature venue near the city. -silverveil
To be fair, I've read in the comment section some let down marks. Since this is a place covered with gigantic trees and near the mountains please don't expect a stable signal. For the horse back riding it is more suited for beginners just to walk around with the attendant. And lastly, remember it's nature, everything here depends on your pace, if you feel dissatisfied on camp grounds you might go forward to the water falls and trekking area, mental preparation of the place can highly impact our enjoyment and be thankful at the end of the day.
I hope these have given you some heads-up starters as you plan to visit our City!
Have a great summer getaway then!
Do or do not. There is no try.
YES. No gray paths! ^ ^
