HAHA yep.... I remember those analog times.
I had to learn how to manually draw up a chart using those Ephemeral Tables books. While it's a handy skill to have (from an astrology perspective), it's a bloody pain in the arse, because you have to work out Lat/Long of birthplace, timezones, then convert everything from GMT to whatever timezone..... which made drawing up Houses a frikkin' nightmare.
I'm very grateful to have software which can do it all for me now, which gives me more time to sit with the chart itself, and easily do some transits and progressions without needing to go through that whole rigmarole all over again.

At least with that experience you know what is involved in the chart creation, how it exactly work.
