The 669-Point Breakdown
I am still floating high on the post-incredible session of Steem Pon! A score of 669 points is an enormous breakthrough to me. On the initial days that I was playing these retro games on the Steem platform, I could barely reach 100 points, and today, everything just worked.
One of such games is Steem Pon, which appears to be quite simple at first glance, but then the speed begins to increase. My initial round also had 10 lives, which I started with (it is my usual amount), and my main intention was to be as stingy with them as I can. During the initial stages, the ball travelled slowly and this enabled me to target the high value targets.

Targeting the Big Points: I learned at a young age that having a goal of 600s or above, I could not afford to play defensively. I was forced to aggressively search the Steem logos and more so the symbols of the Dollar. I have also observed that the elements of Dollar places most weight on the score, hence, I concentrated during most of the mid-game to move my paddle to shoot the ball to those particular clusters.
The 200-Point Shift: It was different after I passed the 200-point mark. The velocity of the ball was high enough and I could not even look at my score anymore. I studied that the time I decide to look away to the numbers, I will lose a life. I remained in place on the "Blue Ball" using little adjustments to my paddle.
The special thing about this 669 point run was the manner in which I used my last couple of lives. At 500-point mark, the ball was swinging down the side walls with erratic speed. My center-paddle method was to maintain the ball moving up and down, so that I would have easier time reacting. Striking the ball with the edge of the bar is too dangerous at such a speed, and the ball will fly at sharp angles and it is practically difficult to retrieve the ball.
With a score of 669, I can say that I was becoming more concentrated and my hand-eye coordination had improved. It is a score that puts me in a highly competitive situation and I believe that I am finally getting the hang of the rhythm of the game. I am already contemplating the way that I can improve my edge-bouncing technique to drive to 700 next time.
Thanks for reading my post I'm inviting @curx, @juli30 and @maxub to try out this game.
