Living in Romania – Unbelievable stories: Brothers until the... bars tear us apart

Once, there were two nice, gentle, good and very, very, very obedient brothers. ‘till the 3rd grade in primary school, when they found out that math and chemistry will not help them succeed in life. Fane (from Ștefan, Steven in english) and Vasile Costache had the professions of convicts. There were very good at this, very skillful and they were doing there „job” very professional and without too much trouble. Basically, they stayed more in prison than at home.
Fane and Vasile entered in the history of our neighborhood and, without a lack of modesty, in the history of our city. In the 70’s, they achieved the incredible performance to not to meet each other for more than seven years. And not because they had a big fight, but because they got themselves in prison... one at a time. Vasile had no patience and rushed up to prison first. After a few years of rehabilitation, when the time had come for Vasile to come out, Fane „got surprised” by cops and received a few years of prison as a gift. So, the great reunion didn’t happened. And so on. When one came out, the other got in. For seven years and many convictions. But that made the meeting more beautiful... For sure, they had a lot to tell each other.
