My collection of silver and gold coins: Quadriglia briosa 1916
Hi friends, today I have a very special coin for you ... I'm talking about the 2 silver liras of 1916. It doesn't have a great value, just over 60€ but in my opinion it has a spectacular design.
On one side of the coin there is the effigy of Vittorio Emanuale III king of Italy, while on the other side there is the figure of a chariot drawn by 4 galloping horses, hence the name "Quadriglia briosa".
Coin details:
Silver | Weight | Diameter |
---|---|---|
835/1000 | 10 | 27 mm |
Image taken from a coin collection site.
They were produced from 1914 until 1935, the rarest are those of 1927 which can be worth up to 4.000€
Cheers! from @jacksartori
Very beautiful coin. I should have picked some silver coins up on my last Italy vacation :)
Thanks for reading my post and I'm glad you enjoyed the coin. Friday I should bring more;)

I've always loved this coin design @jacksartori, I wish they would use it on a current coin so we could enjoy it again. 🙏
