Silver Dollars - Morgan & Peace
I've been seeing a lot of posts lately about silver. People winning it, getting it in the mail, showing off their collections. It appears that silver fever has finally affected me. I'm not sure what the cure is, but I've decided to share some of my precious silver coins. These four are the oldest silver dollars in my collection. The oldest being an 1878 Morgan silver dollar minted in San Francisco. So, here they be, from newest to oldest, arrggghhhh!
1923 Peace Silver Dollar

This Peace silver dollar is the newest of the four yet, ironically, is in the worst condition. Just above the tip of the eagle's wing is an "s" indicating this coin was minted in San Francisco.
1901 Morgan Silver Dollar

The newest of my three Morgan silver dollars. The little "s" above the D and O in "dollar" means this coin was minted in San Francisco, making this the most valuable of the silver dollars minted in 1901.
1886 Morgan Silver Dollar

No mint mark on this coin means it was minted in Philadelphia.
1878 Morgan Silver Dollar

1878. The first year Morgan silver dollars were minted. If this coin had been minted in Carson City ("cc" mint mark) it would be worth a lot of money. Especially in the beautiful condition it's in. Alas, it was minted in San Francisco. Oh well, I'm still happy to have these! Thank you for reading!
