The Portland Trail Blazers hosted the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night at the Moda Center in Portland, OR. Portland has won four straight heading into Friday night’s match up and Minnesota, despite losing Jimmy Butler to a knee injury, have won three of their last four contest.
Both teams played relatively even through much of the first quarter until the T’Wolves sparked a 8-1 run to end the quarter to take a seven point lead. With Minnesota up five points midway through the second quarter, the sparked another 6-0 run to build an eleven point lead with two minutes left. Portland rattled off a 15-3 run which spanned early into the third quarter, to take a 51-49 lead.

Similar to the first quarter, Minnesota was able to, once again, build a ten point lead midway through the third period, before allowing Portland to come back just before the end of the frame to trail by only three points. With the game tied at 86 in the fourth quarter, Portland made one last run, outscoring Minnesota 13-3 to build a ten point lead, behind three-pointers by Al-Farouq Aminu, CJ McCollum, and Damian Lillard, ultimately winning their fifth consecutive game, 108-99.
