Fungi Friday - FUNGI : ANOTHER LITTLE COLLECTION

in #steemstem5 years ago

It's Friday again ... and here comes another short look at the mushrooms from my area ...

... we'll start with this lovely Coprinopsis picacea ... commonly known as magpie fungus ... and it makes some kind of sense, with a bit of imagination, we can see how the black and white magpie bird will turn into this umbrella with some assistance of the Harry Potter's magic wand ...

... the next one is a chubby bolete ... I mean is chubby becouse looks chubby, this is not the name of the species ... this is one of the many similar mushrooms of this type that grow here in abundance, all of them edible ... the inedible and poisonous ones shaped this way, fortunately have very different colors so not knowing the exact species it's not a big problem ...

This group of Lactarius piperatus mushrooms are edible ... but with many similar non-edible mushrooms in this area ... I usually let them be ... they don't have strong aroma or any particular taste - a reason more to not pick them ... as a photo model for nature photography they can serve much better ...

This lovely, slightly pinky mushroom are unknown to me, I see them from time to time on the border of the tree covered areas ... and that's all I can tell you about them ...

These are some small elegant mushroom ... that are also a mystery to me ... many of these tiny species is almost impossible to identify through common guidebooks or here on the internet ... but their shape and elegance is a good enough reason for me to include them in the post ...

... the same with this one ... a very small elongated beauty that sprouts from a little branch on the forest floor ... and closes this Fungi Friday post, THE END :)

As always in these posts on Steemit, the photographs are my work.

I have found the little white sprout one here as well. They are still a mystery to me as well. Though it might be listed here somewhere https://mushroomobserver.org/species_list/show_species_list/1034

A nice, long list of species with photographs, useful stuff :) thanks.

My guess is Collybia cirrhata for the little sprout shroom.

Could be ... not a bad guess ...

Guesses with mushrooms are always dangerous, no?

:) Only if you plan to eat them

With certain families guesses can be dangerous ie amanita but most mushrooms aren't deadly. Definitely only eat the ones you are positive on the id though.

Very nice photos; people's local mushrooms are always fascinating to me.

Thanks :) glad you like the post
