Hello steemians, how are we doing and hope our day is going fine as well. Today I am going to talk to you about Laryngotracheitis I hope you like this information that I am going to present.

Laryngotracheitis in children and adults is an inflammatory disease that is often associated with lesions of the larynx and trachea. The symptoms of the disease manifest as a result of the penetration into the human body of different bacteria and viruses.

The inflammation of the first affects the larynx and gradually moves to the trachea. At this point, the symptoms of the disease appear characteristic - the change of voice, pain in the throat, and other regional lymphadenitis.

Acute laryngotracheitis rarely occurs in isolation. It is most commonly developed in the background of the already existing in the body of infectious diseases - rhinitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis and so on. In children, the bacterial or viral type of the disease is often associated with adenoiditis. It is important to diagnose the disease and begin to treat it as no inflammation appropriate therapy is spread to the lungs.

REASONS

Acute infectious laryngotracheitis is origin and bacterial. More commonly in children and adults it is a common form of infectious disease. It usually develops in the background of SARS.

Bacterial laryngotracheitis occurs more rarely. It is caused by pathogenic microorganisms:

✔Chlamydia
✔Staphylococcus;
✔pneumococci and other bacteria.

Very often adults constrictive laryngotracheitis or a child develops as a result of weakening of the body's defenses. Resistance to significantly reduce these factors:

✔Diabetes;
✔Chronic diseases of the upper respiratory tract;
✔Gastritis;
✔Hepatitis;
✔Diseases of the cardiovascular system;
✔Diseases of the central nervous system;
✔Deviation of the septum;
✔Cysts and polyps in the nose.

Of particular interest is the constrictive laryngotracheitis of the child. In addition, this condition doctors call false croup. It is characterized by a stenosis of the larynx. The pathology is extremely dangerous, as the complete stenosis can lead to suffocation. The reasons for the narrowing of the larynx:

✔Swelling;
✔Spasm of the muscles of the larynx;
✔Infiltration of the mucosa.
✔Classification
✔Types of pathology:
✔Occlusive stenotic laryngotracheitis;
✔Acute constriction laryngotracheitis;
✔Acute laryngotracheitis.

SYMPTOMATOLOGY

✔Headaches;
✔Sore throat;
✔Reduction of work capacity;
✔The patient has the sensation of a lump in the throat;
✔Change the voice.

Particular attention is paid to constrictive laryngotracheitis in children. The symptoms of the disease are observed up to 8 years. The most common disease occurs within the first three years of a child's life. The disease occurs acutely. Cough attacks occur mainly during the night. They are accompanied by wheezing, dyspnea. Due to the tension of the hypoxia and turning the blue lips and nasolabial triangle. The child is very restless and scared, crying constantly. He sits or se. This is due to the fact that he alone can not adopt a horizontal position, as the cough in this position is reinforced (by edema).

DIAGNOSTICS

If the symptoms mentioned above develop, you should immediately call the emergency room or to go to a medical center on your own. The diagnosis can be adjusted even during personal inspection, and also on the basis of characteristic pathology symptoms, which manifest themselves in an adult or a child. Also, in addition, designated laboratory and classical methods of diagnosis:

  • X-rays;
  • CT;
  • RM;
  • Laryngotraheoskopiya;
  • Bacterial analysis of sputum and smear.

TREATMENT

The treatment should be carried out only in a hospital under the supervision of doctors. The main objective of therapy - to eliminate the pathogen and reduce inflammation. For this purpose, designated antimicrobial and antibacterial agents, and antiviral agents. Antibiotics can be assigned even inhaled.

In addition, drug therapy based on the use of these drugs:

  • Expectorants;
  • Antihistamines;
  • Antitussive drugs are named, if there is a non-productive cough;
  • Fever;
  • Anti-inflammatory;
  • Plant mucolytics;
  • Sea salt solution or herbal extracts gargle;
  • Homeopathic remedies.

Treating laryngotracheitis a child and an adult should be with the mandatory application of inhalations. They give the most positive effect, since the active substance during inhalation directly into the inflammatory focus. for inhalation medications, provided only by a doctor. Self-medication can only aggravate the disease and cause the development of false croup, which will be much more difficult to treat.

Antibiotics, which are used in the treatment of bacterial diseases, are not effective in treating croup, since it is almost always due to a virus, allergy or reflux. Cough syrups are not useful and can even be harmful.

I hope you liked this little research, and it will be until next time we see each other, you are writing me at wahtsapp.

Sort:

That it is an infectious disease makes it more scary and weird. There are no external signs to detect someone likely to be suffering from it, which is quite bad and calls for serious care from our part.

Thanks very much for this exposition. Steemit is quite a good place to learn!

Yes, a few years ago my sister suffered from this and required an operation, thank you for your visit
