Over the past weeks we have been working behind the scenes to significantly improve the media upload experience on Speak on Steem. Today we are happy to introduce a completely upgraded upload system, designed to be faster, more reliable, and much more resilient to real-world network conditions.

Uploading large videos on the web is not always easy. Connections drop, browsers refresh, networks change. With this new system, we focused on solving those problems so creators can upload content with confidence.

⚡ Smarter Chunked Uploads

The new system uses an advanced chunked upload architecture, splitting large videos into small pieces before sending them to the server.

This approach provides several advantages:

• Large files can upload much more reliably
• Network interruptions no longer break the entire upload
• Failed chunks are automatically retried
• Upload progress is smoother and more accurate
  This means creators can now upload larger videos with significantly greater stability.

🔄 Automatic Recovery From Network Issues

Internet connections are not always stable, especially on mobile or shared networks. The new upload engine intelligently detects when something goes wrong and reacts automatically.
It can now:

• Detect network interruptions
• Pause automatically when the connection is lost
• Resume uploads once connectivity returns
• Retry stalled or slow chunks without losing progress
  In practice, this means uploads are far more resilient to real-world internet conditions.

🧠 Smart Upload State Management

We also implemented a smarter system to manage upload states.
The platform now:

• Tracks active uploads in real time
• Prevents actions like posting comments while a media upload is in progress
• Allows uploads to be safely cancelled
• Cleans up temporary upload data automatically

This improves both platform stability and user experience, preventing many of the issues commonly seen with large media uploads.
