Letters from Cupid
Dear Cats of Steemit and all Human Steemit kind,
This morning I was enjoying catching a few rays of sunshine on my outdoor cat perch, whilst surveying my kingdom. A lot of insect folk were busying themselves with their work; there were bumblebees collecting the last bit of pollen from the lavender bush and ants eagerly digging away between the yard tiles, and all was well... until Merlin came along.
I watched him saunter over to the lavender bush. I wasn’t quite sure what he was doing over there, I guess he was sniffing the flowers. Something must have tickled his nose, he sneezed very loudly and then started throwing his head from side to side, whilst something fuzzy was circling him in the air.
Turns out Mrs Bumble the bumblebee wasn’t too impressed at being sneezed at. I have told him previously not to sneeze at humans and other animal folk, but he never listens. Mrs Bumble then decided to chase Merlin back inside the kitchen, so that we could all have some peace again. That’ll teach the pirate.... not really; he has got the memory of a goldfish.
Mrs Bumble and I go way back, all the way to the beginning of July, when she mistook me for my brother and nipped me in the leg, after he had decided to nearly give her a heart attack by playing tennis with her. I told him that just because something is fuzzy, doesn’t mean that it is a tennis ball. He clearly had been watching Wimbledon on the TV the day before, whilst the human was out hunting for cat food (something the human refers to as ‘shopping’).
Anyways, I digress. Merlin was back inside, Mrs Bumble was back busying herself with the lavender flowers and all was well again. That is until I heard the human mention my name, whilst speaking into this square thing the human calls ‘phone’. I hope human wasn’t speaking to the vet, and I really hope that does not mean that I have to go sit in this contraption the human calls ‘cat carrier’ again. Last time I peed all over myself in protest, after human put me inside this little prison box. That’ll teach the human.
As you can see, it’s difficult being me. Everyone around me has so much to learn. Patience is my virtue, my name is Cupid, I am a God after-all.

Thank you for that gentle story, Cupid! You have magnificent whiskers, I must say. As for those Hoomans, you just have to be patient with them... it can take quite a while for the "training sessions" to take hold!

Thank you for your comment. I agree, everyday is a school day for those humans. I think my whiskers are my best feature, especially as Merlin’s aren’t anywhere near as magnificent as mine.
Human really ought to know better than to dip your backside in a bucket! You showed him
Human even bought special cat shampoo for when I have these ‘accidents’ but human never got to use it because of my successful protest.
I don't ever bath mine. Maybe some spot cleaning as necessary but I value my health!
