It’s a unique species of beautiful flowering plant within the verbena family of Verbenaceae. It’s native to the American tropics. It’s a very adaptable species, which can inhabit a wide variety of ecosystems, once it has been introduced into a habitat it spreads rapidly.

The extracts of lantana is used in folk medicine for the treatment of cancers, chicken pox, measles, asthma, ulcers, swellings, eczema, tumors, high blood pressure, bilious fevers, catarrhal infections, tetanus, rheumatism, malaria & atoxy of abdominal viscera.
