SLC31-W3: Shop & Share Challenge - Street Market Purchase
Assalamu Alaikum everyone.
Today I am sharing my shopping experience from a familiar street market near my home. This market is located in Satarku, Abdul Hamid Road area, and it is only about a 4–5 minute walk from my house. I regularly shop here because almost all daily necessities are available in one place.
The best thing about this street market is that, although it is small, it works like a mini supermarket. You can easily find fresh vegetables, rice, lentils, oil, salt, spices, and other grocery items. For local residents, it is a very important and convenient place for daily shopping.

Long eggplant and okra vegetables
Today, I bought cucumber and lemons. The price of cucumber was 80 BDT per kg. The shopkeeper first asked 30 BDT for four lemons, but after a bit of bargaining, I managed to buy them for 20 BDT. I always enjoy this bargaining experience in street markets.
I also noticed that eggplant was 80 BDT per kg and potatoes were 20 BDT per kg. There were different types of rice, lentils, oil, and spices available at various prices. The vegetables looked fresh and of good quality, which made me feel confident about my purchase.

Green Eggplant, Bitter Melon etc
I chose this market mainly because of its close location and easy accessibility. Within a short time, I can get everything I need. The sellers are also very friendly, which makes the shopping experience more comfortable

Snake Gourd and other vegetables
In the evening, the market becomes quite crowded, as many local people come here for their daily shopping. Since the shops are beside the road, there is sometimes traffic, but it is manageable. The environment feels lively and reflects the natural busy atmosphere of a local market.
While buying the cucumber and lemons, I took some photos, which I have added to my post as proof of my purchase. In my opinion, if the shopkeepers improve cleanliness around their stalls and display price lists clearly, it would make shopping easier and more attractive for customers. This could also help improve their business.
Local street markets like this are an important part of our daily lives. They offer fresh products at affordable prices and support local sellers. So, I believe we should always support our local markets.
I invite you all to participate in this challenge and share your own street market experience.

Review:
The vegetable which you have visited sells a lot of vegetables and other perishable goods. One of the disadvantages of selling vegetables and perishable items is preservation and spoilage because such items are liable to spoil easily.
