SLC-S33/W6 | Beyond the Map : One Place, Many Stories
Every place has more than one story. Look closer, explore deeper, and tell the complete story of one destination.
Introduction
A single place can reveal many different stories depending on how we look at it. Its history, people, culture, architecture, environment, and everyday activities can all contribute to its identity.
For the final week of Beyond the Map, participants are invited to choose one meaningful location and explore it from different perspectives. Instead of visiting multiple unrelated places, focus on one destination and uncover the different stories that exist within it.
Through Steem Atlas, original photography, video, and personal storytelling, show what makes this place valuable, interesting, and worth remembering.
What Participants Should Capture
You may choose one location such as:
- A natural tourist attraction ( No Village Location will be allowed)
- A historical landmark
- A town square or major public place
- A historic neighborhood or street
- A religious or cultural site
- A famous local attraction
- Any other meaningful public place that can be explored from multiple perspectives
Your post should explore the same location through different aspects, such as:
- History — its origin, past, and development
- People & Activities — how people use or interact with the place
- Culture & Traditions — local customs, lifestyle, or cultural significance
- Architecture — buildings, structures, design, or artistic details
- Nature & Environment — landscape, vegetation, water, surroundings, or atmosphere
- Personal Experience — your own observations, memories, or feelings
Note: The different perspectives should remain connected to the same location or its immediate surroundings.
Entries that do not focus on one clearly identifiable location will not be considered for evaluation.
Questions Participants Must Answer
Where is this place located, how can visitors reach it, and when did you visit it?
What is the history or background of this place, and why is it important to the local community?
What different stories can be discovered here through its people, culture, architecture, activities, or natural surroundings?
What can visitors experience, observe, or learn when they explore this place?
After exploring the place from different perspectives, what makes it unique and worth remembering or visiting?
