"Video Contest Week- 04": Elonti Belonti – A Sweet Childhood Game

Elonti Belonti is one of the favorite childhood games for many of us. This fun and simple game carries a lot of memories and emotions. Even today, many people feel nostalgic when they remember this game, as it is closely connected to their childhood.

Whenever I see children playing games, it reminds me of my own beautiful childhood memories. Last winter, I saw a group of children playing this game, and their joyful moments became very memorable to me.

Before the game starts, all the players gather in one place and place their hands together, then raise them. In this stage, the player whose hand position appears the most unique or different becomes safe. This process continues until only one player is left, and that person becomes the “thief” or seeker.

Explaining the entire game can be a bit difficult, but I will try my best. The remaining players stand at a certain distance in front of the seeker. The seeker then turns away and says, “Elonti Belonti 1, 2, 3.” During this time, the players try to move forward. As soon as the counting stops, everyone must freeze and cannot move.

If any player is caught moving and the seeker notices it, that player becomes the next seeker. The game continues in this way, with players carefully moving forward and stopping at the right moment.

When the players get close enough, they try to touch or push the seeker and then quickly run back to their safe zone to avoid being caught. This makes the game even more exciting and full of energy.

It is truly a fun and enjoyable game. When I watched the children playing, I felt like joining them, and they even invited me to play. It was a really exciting and nostalgic experience for me.
