Assalamu Alaikum, how is everyone? I hope you are doing well. Alhamdulillah, I am also doing well. The place I visited is where farmers sell their vegetables by the roadside.

1 Where is this place located?

The farmers bring the vegetables with a lot of hard work, and they sell various vegetables. This place is located in Hamsar Upazila, Algi Bazar, in Satpur District. Here, farmers from the fields come regularly to sell their harvested and home-grown vegetables to the buyers by sitting by the roadside. This is how their daily life routine goes and how they constantly face the struggles of daily life. This place is very popular for selling both vegetables and fish. Right next to it is Durgapur School and College, and this place is right in front of it. So, there is always a crowd of people here.

2 Who are the people featured in your photographs and what are they doing?

Among the photos I have taken, there are some pictures of the simple rural life of farmers selling vegetables. They bring the vegetables they have grown themselves to the market and sell them to the vendors. And they keep following this daily routine in their life. They grow various kinds of vegetables and then come to the market to sit by the roadside and sell them to customers. This is how the basic structure of their life works, and by selling these vegetables, they are able to meet the needs of their household and life. Many farmers, however, face different obstacles in selling their produce. Sometimes their vegetables get damaged by storms or heat, and if they can't sell them in time, they go bad. Because of the pressure to keep their life going, they follow this daily routine constantly, coming to the roadside to sell vegetables, and whatever is left over, they take back to their designated place.

3 How do these people contribute to the local community or economy?

Farmers grow different types of vegetables and crops at different times to meet the needs of the people in their surrounding community as well as their own needs. By producing these vegetables, they can fulfill their food requirements and the food demand of the market, and by selling them, they can meet other daily life needs. In this way, a farmer benefits the economy and the community a lot, and the vegetables and crops they produce through their hard work have a positive impact on the post-harvest community and the economy. Because of their production, people in the village can enjoy fresh and tasty vegetables, and selling these vegetables makes it much easier for them to manage their daily lives. Additionally, other individuals and the community can easily get their food and vegetables at hand.

4 What did you learn or observe while spending time in this place?

During the visit to this place, what I could feel is that if a person wants, they can do it. An ordinary farmer with just his basic knowledge can grow different types of vegetables at different times and also take those vegetables to the side of the road next to the market to sell them. So, a person embodies different roles—first as a farmer producing the vegetables, and later as a seller selling those vegetables in the market. This is how a person fulfills various roles. In this way, humans do different kinds of work at different times to meet their daily needs, and this is how they are able to achieve the scope and goals of daily life.

5 What story or emotion do you think your photographs convey about everyday life?

Through my pictures, I’ve tried to show how an ordinary farmer produces one type of roll at a time and the hard work behind their daily struggle. These farmers grow the crops themselves and come to the market to sell them by hand. Each roll is made differently in its own time. Similarly, we do different tasks at different times to meet the needs of our lives, working on different things at different times. This is how our life struggle continues, and through this struggle, we fulfill our needs. These ordinary farmers bring their harvested crops, set them up by the roadside, and sell them. So, you can see how much knowledge they have and how many different kinds of rolls they can make because of the skills they’ve developed. It shows the value of their life and the hard work they endure to fulfill their needs. This is essentially the daily life struggle of a farmer.

I really enjoyed reading your post. You presented everything in a very nice and clear way. I liked how you introduced the vegetable shop in your local market and described the place in such an interesting and detailed manner.

The photos you shared were wonderful and helped make the post more engaging. However, I think it would have been even better if you had included a video as well. A video could give readers a better view of the place and make the post more attractive. I hope you will keep this in mind for your future posts.
