SC-S29/W4- Nostalgia Of The Liitle Me : People Who Shaped My Childhood

Who is the person (or people) that shaped your childhood the most?

The people who shaped my childhood the most are my parents. My parents are the first people who taught me how to communicate, they taught me how to greet someone, brush my teeth, and say thank you when I am being offered something.

My first life lessons I learnt from my parents as they are my first teacher and it was from my parents that I got to believe that the first place that a child can learn is from home.

What is your earliest or most memorable memory with this person?

My most memorable memory with my parents was on my birthday as a child. My parents present me with gifts on my birthday. They bathe me up and dress me up, and also do the same thing to my younger sister. After dressing us up, they took my sister outside and set a table that was arranged with biscuits and minerals kept me at the front while some people stood at my back.

As I stand their stating singing happy Birthday songs to me which the photographer was busy capturing photos. After taking group pictures with my parents and those who came for my birthday, my younger sister and I then took our own picture separately.

How did this person guide, support, or discipline you during childhood?

My parents guide me from doing the wrong things in life. Also, they guide me by protecting me from being harmed and ensuring that I am focused. As for support my parents supported me in my education which they sent me to the best nursery and primary school in my village. As for discipline my parents also punished me for my wrongdoing so I could stop doing what's wrong.

What values, habits, or lessons did you learn from them?
How does their influence still reflect in your life today?

The lessons that I learn from my parents and how their influence still reflects in my life today are:

  • Love and caring: I learn about how to love and care for not just myself but also others. My parents taught me that love is the greatest of all and to date, their influence on love and care is part of my life every day.

  • Supportive:I learn how to support someone who is in need especially when I have. The influence of my being supportive of people is still in me today.

  • Forgiveness: I learn how to forgive anyone who has offended me because my mom and dad always forgive each other and their influence of forgiveness is still in me.

  • How to mind my business: I learn not to put my mouth in something that doesn't concern me from my parents I also learn how to stay away from trouble every day of my life.
