decades of experience by JOEL MULL - nothing but a GREAT ARTISTsteemCreated with Sketch.

The tags #danceweekend and #technofriday seems to get a bit fluid in terms of exact days. While the founder of #danceweekend - @uwelang - started already last Thursday, @cubapl and yours truly already stretched #technofriday last few months. Maybe we shall consider to change tags to #danceallday and #technoeveryday :) But you know what marketeers say: changing brands is cumbersome and shall only be considered when it'll enhances in whatever way or form the service and/or product it represents.

Anyways, also this time, I'm late, very late, in bringing you my techno selection of the week. Therefore it shall be something special!

You may know, Sweden is one of these rare countries where quite a few great techno artists emerged from the 90s onwards. For long - and I think it is still the case today - electronic music was not that big in clubs, not in Stockholm, not in any other city or village in Sweden. Still, it is the home of many famous and less famous but quality electronic artists and producers.

One of these - and to me the best of them all - is Joel Mull

It has been too long ago, I posted about this super friendly guy, who happens to be one of my favourite artists throughout my techno fan career, basically since Joel started to produce and play events and clubs back in the 90s. I could find one post only in my QSOUNDS catalogue (post here).

About time for another recording I really like, a very recent one Joel did for the guys in Taiwan, Smoke Machine. The play button is where it always is, just a little scroll down this article, past the image. It only requires a single hit with one of your fingertips on your mouse and your ears will be filled with sounds of joy. At least, it does with me :)

this time #technofriday overwhelmed me a bit too much and finally today I finally made myself up and found some energy to write few words about my last weekend. Joel Mull will be my soundtrack for the Sunday's evening on the couch with card games and beer ;)

did you like the tunes of Joel?

Wise words on the tags my friend - open for aby suggestion that supports that music

The music community is quite fragmented, quite a few discord servers. Have no idea at the moment, but just that it would be create to get many of the silo music initiatives to work together, maybe even form a new type of sub-community. But how to do that without community features, I haven't figured out.

I have always liked techno, especially since it is my youth, discos, where techno music has always been. Techno is generally considered more serious music. The sound of this genre is usually more distant, mechanistic. It is easy to imagine in the soundtrack to a fantastic film about space odyssey and difficult in Coca-Cola advertising :)

hahaha indeed! but somehow Techno became mainstream a few years ago, with the 'mass' enjoying festivals and club events with this mostly underground music. ok ok, some of the techno artists created relatively simple sounding tracks and play the easy stuff, which is not too difficult to grasp. I for one, prefer those places where the fans are, and the general public stay away from. Techno to me, is one of the few styles in electronic music that most adheres to the idea of what the early raves was about: enjoy maximum with all others in the room no matter who somebody is. Be friends for a night, regardless.
