To The Boy Who Said He Loves Me

in #story6 years ago

Hey..I know you should be expecting a reply after you spill out your feelings on the table where we sat to gulp down those bottles of coke.

I'd love the way your tongue wrap those words, uttering it like music lyrics. The bewitching smile that followed up each and every sip you took from that glass.

The sweet fragrance of your perfume which filled the air, woke up dead bones in me. Bones which got tired after fighting hard against heartbreakers.

I know you're still waiting for a yes....I can feel the accelerating beat your heart is producing.

I began treading this rugged love path when I turned sixteen. My first boyfriend who'd stalked me the way you're doing, didn't leg me have a drink until I accepted his request.

The first few months felt like I'd met the masculine version of me. The chilled sensation of an ice cream on the tongue;this was how it was until I eventually popped the cherry.

Months passed and everything dissolved like ice thrown in a furnace. The verbal abuses became a normal routine everytime we had a quarrel. It climax was when I paid him an unexpected visit and found him in a compromising position with my so called best friend.

I'd heard the sounds of crashing pieces of my heart. Intoxicated by pain, I got drowned in my river my tears made.

"To heal a broken heart you've got to let yourself love again". This gospel my sickhead preached many months after.

Timi-the dark skinned yoruba demon came in and left with the excuse that he wants me to switch to his religion.

Charles-the banker whose words were like tinkling timbres came in through same door and left saying the way I breath when I sleep next to him irritates him.

At 21,I lost count. They came and left,it got me thinking I was cursed. I do house chores.I called even when they did not.l forgave even when they never apologized. I did every possible just to make one stay. But after few months they transform into wild dogs.

The bitch in me was unleashed. The only thing that brought me temporal happiness was those bottles of alcohol and smokes from properly wrapped paper. The thread I used to stitch my heart broke a thousand times. The bones my heart was sheltered in withered away slowly. Knitted with philopobia,I switch to love my kind,to seek refuse in her arm but still satisfaction was not within my reach.

From the loner's cup was all I had to drink to quench my thirst.

But here you're singing the same old song they all sang in their mellifluous voices. The same gospel they'd preach with same might and power. Same words they'd uttered.

These few words I leave with you.
If you say you love me,
Please don't hurt me.
If you say you need me,
Please don't leave me.
Don't ever tell me a lie
and make me believe its true.
Don't ever make me trust you,
If I'll be a fool.
Don't ever make me think things,
Things I'll never do.
I don't give my heart that easy,
If I give it to you now please to break it.
Don't ever make me love you,
If you wont love me too.
If I love you....I sure love you.
If I trust you....I sure trust you.

Go get another girl, I am going to plague you with sadness.
