The life of Robert Downey Jr.
Today I want to talk about the person that plays the hero Iron Man and that is Robert Downey Jr..
Well he was born in Manhattan on April 4, 1965 and he was the youngest of two children. His father was Robert Downey Sr.(actor and filmmaker) and his mother was an actress too, named Elsie Ann. He started to use marijuana at the age of 6 because his father was smoking as well. Robert started drug use and became an emotional bond between him and his father.
Downey had some minor roles in his fathers movies like “Pound” in 1970 and “Greaser
s Palace” in 1972. In 1985, he was part of the new, cast hired for Saturday Night Live, but following a year of poor ratings and criticism of the new cast's comedic talents, he and most of the new crew were replaced.
From 1996 until 2001 he was arrested many times on drug related charges like the use of marijuana, cocaine and heroin and he went through drug treatment programs but with no results. He even spent time in jail because of drugs and after spending almost a year in the State Prison in Corcoran, California was freed, unexpectedly, when a judge ruled that his collective time in incarceration facilities had him qualified for an early release.
In 2008 Robert starred in a commercially successful movie, “Iron Man”. It was globally released between 30 April and 3 May, 2008 and grossing over 585 million dollars and received very good reviews witch led to the sequels and later on to “The Avengers”. I think I can say that “Iron Man” was the best role of his career.
I hope you liked the short history of Robert Downey Jr. life. I know that I didn’t about every single part of his life but I wanted to talk about what matters the most.
