The evergreen sugarcane juice business
You can start a sugarcane juice business in two ways: first, by setting up a traditional cart or stall, which costs between ₹30,000 and ₹50,000; or second, by opening a modern 'hygienic juice bar' or café, which may require an investment of ₹1.5 lakh to ₹2 lakh. The primary expense for this business is a high-quality stainless steel (SS) electric crusher machine, available in the market for ₹20,000 to ₹50,000. These machines extract the full juice from the sugarcane in a single pass and are very safe to operate.
Costs and Substantial Profits
The profit margin in the sugarcane juice business ranges from 60% to 70%.
Raw Material: Sugarcane can be procured from farmers or wholesale markets (mandis) at ₹350 to ₹400 per quintal (100 kg). One quintal of sugarcane easily yields over 200 glasses of juice.
Earnings Calculation: The total cost to prepare one glass of juice (including sugarcane, lemon, mint, ice, and the glass itself) is approximately ₹7 to ₹8, whereas it sells in the market for ₹20 to ₹40 per glass. If you sell even 200 to 300 glasses daily, you can easily earn a net profit of ₹3,000 to ₹5,000 per day.
