CURIOSITY IS THE MOTHER OF DISCOVERY

Curiosity, as the saying, goes, kills a cat and a cat, they say has nine lives. But the cat curiosity, to the best of my knowledge, has never mothered many discoveries. But human curiosity is quite different and has led to countless valuable discoveries. Even babies born with curious about this world.

For instance, the things we eat and drink in our daily life. To satisfy our hunger, we have the wide variety of palatable and nutritious cereals, an infinite variety of juicy fruits, an abundance of fish, flesh and fowl to suit every taste. So, to quench our thirst we have, apart from the life-giving water host of drinks like milk, tea, and coffee. All these we consume with pleasure and relief. But do we have the time to pause and think about their history?

Besides, every mankind was curious about the use of different kinds of leaves. Just think how many different kinds of leaves he plucked, dried and brewed.Similar was the story of vegetables, cereals, fruits, fish and fowl, insatiable curiosity bringing in its wake a process of trial and error which never ceased till a useful discovery was made.

Other than that, a child grows up learning and discovering many new things out of curiosity.When a mother warns a child not to touch fire, the child will attempt to touch it. Similarly, there are so many things that a child wants to discover on his own. The child will learn so many things whenever they try to do new things. They can understand what is good and bad in their early age. It will help them to improve their IQ and EQthinking skills.

Furthermore, let’s see another angle of human curiosity, that is the sea. Undoubtedly, the sea is boundless, fathomless, and mysterious. It brought curious fascination to our early ancestors. We can imagine them standing on the seashore, wondering what was on the other side of the water. As the years rolled on, their curiosity grew stronger until at last they took the risk and sailed on the high seas in vessels which, compared with mighty modern liners, were mere eggshells.

The mother of invention, namely curiosity should be kept alight as it has propelled many successful inventions among ordinary men. The effort of the education system among others should be to keep the students asking questions, burning with zeal to discover new things. The curiosity among humans still continue to years by years.
