Advantages and disadvantages of analog CCTV systems

The main advantages of analog systems are:

a high level of reliability, which is provided by a long period of operation, unpretentiousness in servicing;
The low price is due to the fact that the analog system is not used so often and the demand for it is not great;
ease of maintenance is explained by the fact that almost all masters are well acquainted with this video surveillance system and are able to service it.

The main advantages of IP cameras are:

  • high image quality, which is guaranteed using the megapixel matrix;
  • video analytics is conducted at a deeper level thanks to the introduction of the latest software;
  • the ability to manage and control video streams through a secure connection to the Internet network to protect video material;
  • a more modest cost of installation and the possibility of upgrading the system by adding and reducing the number of video cameras is also an advantage of the IP system.
  • The only drawback is the small number of HD cameras that can be connected to older systems. Therefore, sometimes to substantially improve the video material, the video surveillance system needs to be completely replaced.
