Actually, in the USA they have had "refuelling stations" for years , Drive in , swap your Batteries for recharged Units, in about the time it takes to fill a tank!
For those carrying on about Fossil Fuels , you have Hydrogen Fuel Cells which are charged by replacing Hydrogen, absolutely clean.
