LG Display, one of the leading companies in the television industry, once again announced its success with the announcement made before CES. Because the product introduced is the 8K OLED screen in the world's first 88 inch size.

While 4K resolution and HDR are still in the process of standardization, LG continues to keep its hands on new technologies. This new panel offers a resolution of 7680 × 4320 pixels, 16 times more than Full HD and four times more pixels than UHD.

OLED panels have many advantages over LCDs. LG officials say they can produce very thin panels in huge sizes like 88 inches because OLED technology does not need backlighting.

LG Display's Deputy General Manager In-Byung Kang said that the world's first 8K OLED display is a milestone for the 8K era to come to this level, saying OLED has an exciting potential and cuts energy consumption significantly.

OLED is a fairly new generation technology yet. That's why LG Display is concentrating its research and development efforts on OLEDs. Thus, it is aimed to present new products to customers and markets.
