Intel's 8th generation of processors arrive in 2017 with 15% more speed

in #technology7 years ago

Intel said on Thursday that the eighth generation of their processors will be released in 2017. According to the company, they will be 15% faster than the seventh generation, codenamed Kaby Lake, released last year. Also manufactured with the 14 nm lithography process, the 8000 series of processors will upgrade the Core i3, i5 and i7 chip lines. The increase in performance will be low from one generation to another. This means that today's processor owners do not have to worry so much about upgrading.

The giant Santa Clara did not give an exact date of the launch of these new chips, only limited to say the second half of 2017. That is, from July. The 14nm + manufacturing process may indicate that these are only revised versions of the current chips. There is a possibility that the trade names are Kaby Lake-X or even Skylake-X.

Intel is expected to launch a new architecture, which can be called Coffee Lake. It was only planned for 2018, but with the release of the new processors from AMD, the Ryzen, the manufacturer has decided to anticipate the release date of this new generation.

Unfortunately, we do not yet have information on the technical specifications, such as clock, amount of cache memory, among other data. We can only wait for more official information.
