Invest in Asteroid Mining and Become a US Trillionaire

Had a discussion on this topic over at daohub and got hundreds of views. In my view the DAO could potentially fund space mining for precious resources. The market for asteroid mining is trillions of dollars and if the DAO could get a slice of that it could make all DAO investors very wealthy.
What are your thoughts on this topic?
This is my first post here steemit seems like a great idea but still learning.
Sounds like a good way for the Big DAO to get ripped off, unless some company with an actual head start in the aerospace field is involved. But do you really think anyone in that field would be interested in getting funds from a headless semi-democratic mass of money?
There are two reputable companies that I can think of. Planetary Resources Deep Space Industries. If they ever go public all the DAO needs to do is buy shares via the traditional channels.
