We all know the frustration of asking your voice assistant something and them no longer being capable of solution. Well, now Amazon’s Alexa will understand that frustration, and modify accordingly.

That’s a large breakthrough for how Alexa responds in the manner for even greater emotional analysis, which might be used to detect things like depression.

Amazon’s Alexa will now examine your tone of voice to gauge frustration ranges
It’s perhaps fitting that Alexa will now start to investigate now not simply the content of your queries but also the tone you are saying them in. After all, AI remains in its infancy, and like a small toddler, your voice assistants need to learn how to respond.

The manner it really works underneath the hood is very exciting:

User asks Alexa a question
This gets analyzed through two extra deep neural networks, beyond the one to decipher your command. One exams for words that suggest frustration, and the second analyzes the tone of your voice
The outcomes of these new algorithms then pass into a 3rd algorithm, which makes a judgment on whether or not the response was satisfactory or not.
For now, the feedback loop works only with tune requests. If Alexa starts playing the incorrect tune primarily based to your question, you may say “No, Alexa” and the voice assistant will express regret and ask for rationalization. Oh, and once the algorithms from Amazon are skilled further, it should also update the want for human contractors to grade responses.

Cool isn't it?
Is this new Alexa function a very good thing?
