A Happy Day As Strike Break And Work Resumption Begins.
The strike lasted nearly three months due to the federal government’s failure to meet previous commitments, such as adjusting our CONHESS salary and paying staff allowances. As negotiations stalled without tangible results, we were compelled to take industrial action, which left many of us at home for an extended period. Thankfully, we are grateful that the strike concluded last week Friday, allowing us to return to work.

In retrospect, although the strike was difficult, it proved to be beneficial for me and many of my colleagues. Personally, it allowed me to take a much-needed break and reconnect with my family. Working in a hospital is demanding and stressful, often leaving little time for relaxation. During the strike, I relished quality moments with my loved ones, celebrated Christmas and New Year at home, enjoyed outings, shared meals, and really bonded. This time off provided a welcome escape from daily work pressures, helping to rejuvenate both my body and mind.
As we officially resumed today, we began with our first morning devotion, entrusting ourselves and the new work phase to God. Following that, our HOD addressed the staff, offering encouragement, motivating us to get back to work, and organizing duty schedules for a smooth transition back to full operations.

Afterwards, I visited the reception area to admire the newly renovated hall, and then my colleague and I stopped by the antenatal clinic to see a friend before returning to the office for a break. We spent some time chatting and catching up with colleagues while sharing laughter and stories from the strike.
The day came to a close around 3pm, and I headed home.

After freshening up, I rested, had dinner, watched a few movies, and went to bed by 9pm. Overall, it was a fulfilling and uplifting day. Seeing my colleagues again was refreshing, and they all looked healthier and more vibrant than before, likely a result of the stress relief during the strike. Indeed, the strike period was remarkably eventful despite the challenges.
