Season's greetings! I hope you are doing fine in this festive season.

It was a day to remember in different ways: one, an unexpected call that resulted in Christmas gifts, and yet another call from a colleague asking me to pick up an old woman from where she went for an event on Abak Road, but she could not describe her location. This post will unfold the frustration I had and how it ended.

That morning was very busy for me in the house, but I had a call from the church to come immediately. I was thinking there is someone we need to go and pray for or anything in like manner but this time, went i got there with my son whose was busy I had to carry him along. I actually a a abandoned the clothes I was washing for her to continue if she's done with other things.

As I entered the church the pastor who called me measuring rice, while other condiments were already arranged into a sack back. I was told, pick any bag, that is your Christmas gift. It was wowed and I picked and went home. I cooked the perishable ones then we had a time at home.

I was in the church’s secretary's office trying to get some documents signed before she goes for break, but around 3pm a friend of my mine called me to pick his aged mother from Osongama estate to Abak Road Uyo. The woman came to Uyo from Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom to Uyo for a Christmas celebration in Inyene foundations. This foundation takes care ot widow. Buses go round the Akwa State Locals (31) picking selected numbers of Widow's for empowerment.

I left my house and called the woman; she was only able to tell me the estate where the event was held and could not direct me accordingly. I paid for a keke on a charter so that I will pick her up for her comfort. I entered the Osongama estate office four lanes and began to long for no. 22 Osongama, whereas Osongama is big and has many streets like Abel Damina Street, Ubotex, Akon Ayakenyi, and Eniong/Ewet, even Osongama extension. The old woman did not know about any of this; I guess she was just picked from Itu in the chartered bus with other women from Itu Local Government to go to that venue. The tricycle man was running out of patience, and I was pleading with him to understand that this is an old woman in her 80s. We went up to 5 streets in Osongama and kept asking people who didn't know the actual place.

What I did was to call back my friend and ask him the name of the event the woman went to. That was how I surfed the internet and saw the actual location, and we drove again, but this time the number did not tally with what we saw, and she called again, and then someone close to her and I got to meet her at 4:17pm. I spent over 1 hour trying to locate her.

From where I was supposed to take her to Abak Road, it was too late, and besides they were expecting their to carry them back to their destinations. I had to return home.

Later in the evening I was fetching water as our tap had started running, I fetched what and filled every empty rubber. After I finished fetching, I was anticipating watching Nigeria play against Tanzania but there was no power supply, and I missed that match.
