The Diary Game 24th May, 2026: Braiding a 6-Year-Old Client and the Funny Drama That Followed
Hello everyone,
I’m making this post today, Sunday 24th, to share my activities from yesterday, Saturday. I was too tired to post after the day’s work, so I decided to write about it today.
As a hairdresser, my job is not just about making hair. It is also about making sure my clients are comfortable and satisfied with the final result. Yesterday was one of those days that reminded me how interesting this work can be.
I had a client yesterday who has become a regular customer, even though she is just six years old. Yesterday was actually the third time I was braiding her hair.
I still remember the very first day I braided her hair. It felt like a real battle. She kept telling me I was a wicked person because of the pain, even though we were still talking and laughing in between. Anyone who has ever braided a child’s hair will understand how stressful it can be. Kids rarely sit still, and you have to be very patient.
Yesterday was not much different.
She kept moving around, and to make things easier, she had to sit down watching YouTube on TV while holding the remote control herself, just so she could stay distracted.
What makes it funny is that despite all her complaints whenever I’m plaiting her hair, she is always excited whenever she hears that I’m coming to braid it again.
There is this funny chemistry between us. We talk a lot while I work on her hair, and sometimes even her parents look surprised at how much we gist together. At different points, she would say all sorts of things just to make me stop braiding, hoping I would leave her hair unfinished.
But the most satisfying part always comes at the end.
Immediately I finish, she quickly grabs the mirror to admire her hair. Seeing her smile after all the drama always makes the stress worth it. Yesterday was no different. She looked at the style, smiled beautifully, and thanked me.
Moments like this remind me why I enjoy what I do. Even though working with kids can be stressful, the joy and satisfaction at the end always make it worthwhile.
Thank you for reading, and have a blessed Sunday ❤️
