The Diary Game: Market Wahala But Isiewu Must Be Prepared 20/2/2026

Hello pookie, how are you doing today, I hope you are having a great day going today. Today I am going to local market to buy goat head for preparing isiewu , one of my favorites traditional delicacies .The market was very busy as usual , filled with different sounds trader calling customers, people bargaining and the movement of buyers from one stall to another .

As I walked through the market ,I could see colorful umbrella covering different sections . Some people were selling vegetables, others were selling clothes , and some were displaying fresh meat. The atmosphere was lively and full of energy. When I got to the market section ,I asked for a fresh goat head . The butcher carefully showed me different options and l selected a good one because the price was too much eight thousand naira (8k) for only one goat head.
Buying goat head requires attention because you want it and properly cleaned for delicious isiewu .

Isiewu is a popular Nigeria delicacy , especially among the Igbo people. It's prepared spicy palm oil sauce ,local spices , utazi leave sometimes thickened with potash. The taste is always rich, spicy and satisfying . I normally boiled water to put my goat head in the hot water but not everyone does that, I hardly buy goat head at the eatery. Some people used cool water to wash it which is not for the body. After I was done washing my goat head, I pour the pepper inside the mortal because there was no light at home to blend it .

I also buy yam to used and eat the isiewu but I always use plantain to eat the isiewu but there was no unripe plantain in the market,so I choose to buy the yam for the isiewu. The yam was so heavy,I couldn't carry it but the price of the yam was something else , that I laughed at myself ahahaha, the yam price is fourteen thousand naira ( 14k) for one yam ,Omo I started calculating my head oh because the money am going to used and buy the yam , l can used it and buy food stuff like afang and water,meat Cow leg, periwinkle and cook better food and eat but I decided to buy the yam because I have already gotten goat head ,so I don't have choice than to buy it.so everything was ready to cook my isiewu . I was craving for it and I successfully finished it.
Going to the market reminded how important our local markets are. They bring people together and help to maintain our traditional foods and culture and I can't wait to prepare my isiewu and enjoy it with my family .
