Tutorials on Uploading Videos to Steemit Using Speem — Newcomers and Old Users Guide

This tutorial is for those who doesn't know how to upload videos on Steemit through Speem. Most people aren't aware that they can actually earn by posting videos on Steemit directly other than publishing the video on YouTube and then share the link. Speem has made it possible for us to post our videos directly instead of using YouTube links. If you're just hearing of this, I'll share a quick tutorial on how you can use Speem to post your videos.

Most of us have heard of #steemvideo, but the newcomers in our midst may not be aware of this. That's why I said they have more than 1 way of earning on steemit. While the earn using the #newcomer tag, they can earn using #steemvideo and #steem-atlas if they post contents that are consistent with these tags. So how do you post videos on Steemit through Speem? This are step-by-step guides on how to do so.

Speem has this interface that's like Tiktok. You get to like people's videos and earn as your earnings would be shown on your video display. You can also use this for promotion to those who waste their data making videos on Tiktok without real pay. So so you find it difficult to post using the IPFS video file setting on Speem? Check the below. Before that, you need to understand the use and meaning of some icons on Speem. These are pictorial guides to what the icons mean.

Blue Arrow 🔵	The blue arrow stands for profile. Once you two on this, you can see your posts, videos, friends, communities and followers. You can change your picture here as well.
Yellow Arrow 🟡	This stands for notifications. You get to see who vote on your video and who comments.
Pink arrow 🩷	This pink icon stands for the upload icon. You upload your videos and post here.
Green arrow 🍏	This stands for light mode if you want white or dark display. You change it here.
Orange arrow 🧡	This is the search. You can search for users on the platform and for videos too.

Orange arrow 🧡	This stands for the number of people that voted or liked your videos
Sea green arrow	This stands for the number of steem dollars you've gotten on the video. This is where you know how much you've earned.
Green arrow 💚	This is an icon that contains comments on your videos. You can tap to access these comments and reply to them.
Red arrow ♥️	This is the reshare or Resteem icon.

	You get to remove the video from silence and you also get to see the number of people that have seen your videos — Views

To post on Speem.watch, you must carryout the following steps;

• Click on the link to login. You don't need to create an account for Speem as it's accessible to only steemit users for now. https://speem.watch/

• After clicking on the link, you login with your steemit username and private posting key. There are spaces to input these two details.

• Once you're done doing that, you click on sign in. You'll be logged in automatically. Once you're logged in, you click on the upload icon I explained earlier. This is the upload icon. It will take you to another page where you can either upload directly or using YouTube link. Since we're talking about uploading directly, you click on the icon in that big box with an arrow. It will take you to your gallery to select the video you want to use.

• Select the video and click on OK. Allow the video to load from 1-100%. If the file is big, it may take time. You'll need to be patient. Once the upload is complete, you'll be informed and then you proceed to Next by clicking on the next icon and you'll see another page where you'll have to input your title, community, content, first picture and tags. If you are seeing space for YouTube link instead of the abovementioned, click on Back, then select Direct upload and click on NEXT.

• Input all these things by tapping on the boxes to either type or select. You can't add more than one picture on Speem. So once you're done posting, you go back to the steemit platform, edit and add your pictures where you want to add or you add them in your writing page before inputting them in the description box.

• Note that you're to input the #steemvideo tag to get support from the steem video curators. This should be your first tag. Then you can add other tags and click on Next to preview and Post. Before posting, you can set beneficiary to steemvideo or speak on Steem by clicking on the white box before clicking on next.

Votes aren't guaranteed. To place your chances up high, you need to format and arrange your video in an attractive way. I'll teach you guys how to edit videos using Capcut in my next post instead of just posting videos randomly. The quality of your video gives room for selection for best post if voted by the team.
